On facebook, basically, you only connect with those on your friends list.

I've been invited to join by 2 people I know, but the owners or maintainers of that website want exact information on everyone who joins.
You are not allowed to have a handle, screen name, or fun profile name when you join/ register. They want you to use your first and last name and if you try to enter any word that is published in the dictionary the system will deny your account creation.
I am sure the website is intending to collect information about you so that marketers/ data collectors can send tailored internet garbage directly to your computer e-mail or maybe even your home mailbox if they can get a hold of that information.
Hey, if you have received some kind of mail with your first and last name on it then it must be coming from someone you know and trust right? Because obviously the sender wouldn't have that kind of info. about you to begin with.
It's not like they intend to sell it to an international or nationwide e-mail registry which produces crap mail distribution or something. Yeah right 
So I guess you can see why I have chosen not to join that website. If they ease up on their policy and let me use my screen name for an ID then fine, I might join.

I have a friend who's real last name is "Canada" and it wont accept it.

Or maybe, unlike MD, Facebook wants to make sure you really are who you say you are.

My youngest brother has been on face book for about a year now.
I just haven't got my butt around to signing up.
Maybe my delay has something to do with, your photos becomes their property, to do whatever they choose.
