ok....when does the age difference matter? Is it 10 years difference, or 15. Or maybe it shouldn't matter at all, and it is just personality? Or places you are both at in life? What does everyone think about this?

Well this topic has been brought up a few times already, might want to go back a few pages and read.
But in my oppinion I think its the maturity of a person not so much of the age difference.

Well I'm not ready to date someone 60 which is my Mom's age nor do I want to date a male who is young enough to be a nephew. There is a limit and I believe its more enjoyable to date a peer (10 yrs or under).

You would think age difference doesn't always matter, but I believe it does. I have been married twice and both husbands were 5-6 yrs older than me. I was always the "Baby" of the bunch with the circle of friends and was always left out in many areas, and most issues were about age difference.
I have never felt comfortable dating someone younger than me, and usually try to stay right around my age group. And I agree with Beatrice, I don't want to date someone my Dad's age.......

Depends on what I'm looking for with the date. Dating for fun and entertainment only, well Ihave played with those 15 years younger than me and had lots of good times. If I were looking for something more serious, I suppose i am more likely to stay withing 5 years+/_ of me, just for commonality in history. Then again, I'm not looking for anything serious these days...or nights.

I hear that "age is just a number" argument all the time, but for me personally, I disagree.
YMMV.
Age is more than just a number. It's life experiences. It's shared memories. It's maturity (hopefully).
I don't care how 'mature' you are at 20, you're still just 20. There's a lot of living between that and 40, 50, etc.
The differences may lesson the older you get, but they're still there.
I know some people like it. Some men like dating younger women because it makes them feel young. Some women like dating younger men so they can feel like they still 'got it,' whatever that is. Whatever floats your boat.
Whatever your reason or excuse, age is way more than just a number.

I agree with leprachaun! By 35 you've usually had a fair sampling of "life," and thusly, are in a better position to relate to someone 10+ years your senior.

Age is a number
I don't care what the difference in the numbers are
As long as we mesh, what else matters?

Age definitely maks a difference for the long term. Let's say that he's 15 years older than her.....When she's 60 and he's 75, she's looking at another 25 years of life while he's possilby looking at another 5 years...She can look forward to being alone for 20 years.
Of course, when she's 50 and her libido is soaring, he at 65 doesn't have that much interest any more.
Think about it.

Yeah, eleven years this time. At least he's definitely still interested...I keep wondering when women start to lose interest...

Listen, an old boyfriend of mine used to tell me about his grandparents. They both lived to their 80's. And, according to him, they were stillinterested, both of them. They flirted quite a bit and played around. You could tell they were still sexually active by the way they played. It really depends on the people. They were healthy. And loved each other.
