I know I the great Burns am at a lost of words.
Here's the gist,
I get my happy birthday call from my mom this morning. And we get a talking, and she drops that she is on a singles site. POF!!!
POF are you kidding me I said?!!!
well ya mom likes men ya know.
I know mom, But still its POF.
You have to try Matchdoctor.
I know it feels kind of weird, being on the same sight as my mom.
But POF!!!!
So I go and cruise over there, someplace I have not been in a long time. re activate my profile thingy and low and behold I find my moms profile.
So Im wondering, whats the possibility of bring my mom over to the light.
Any suggestions?
Anyone else have a parent on a dating sight?
Should I pester her to come over the the right side of online dating sites?
What should I do?
Nothing?
cough cough 2hot2late. cough cough. for any that's interested in peaking at my mom.

LOL oh wow....that is something that I am so glad I do not have to deal with. Hopefully it'll be somewhat more manageable as you are well on your way down the road to matrimony.
Go shopping for your mom! Send her some profiles of some guys here! I just got one in my mailbox that seems rather legit, not sure if he's too young for her, though...he is certainly too old for me.

Not sure why you think POF is worse than here.
My 83 yo Mom has a boyfriend. I guess our natural attraction for/from men is genetic.  Anyhoo, I won't have your problem Burns. My Mom told me 2 weeks ago, "The men online only want SEX!"
Quel horror!
Nope, I won't be cruising with Mom anytime soon.

Why is POF worst then here? 8 plus years of experience of online life.
Nothing, and I mean nothing is good as the Matchdoctor for on line signals sites.

I say just let her do her own thing... Let her just experiment on her own and have some fun.
It's kinda being like in Jr.High or High school all over again.... the dating games and playful romancing, etc....
I would ask how things are going and warn her about predatory scammers just looking to take advantage of a woman's warm loving heart.
Variety is good so maybe she should have a profile here too. Hopefully she won't end up an addict like the rest of us.

Educate her how to do it in POF and if she gets burned out (no pun intended) THEN make the offer again to come here. But have some women here talk to her about the scammers IN PRIVATE. Because even some of the nicest seeming guys are still scammers. She needs educating. IN PRIVATE because we do not want to educate the scammers. PLEASE do it privately.
It is hard enough figuring out who the losers/scammers are as it is without educating them on how to con and trick us.

Give her the basics for any site......
Must have recent photo, must meet in a public place, ( as soon as possible ) and only schedule the meeting for like 15-30 minutes, so you both have a way out if there is no chemistry.
Then as Spirit has mentioned, give her the list of red flags ( in private).
