And I don't consider this question to have anything to do with religion or spirituality...so, I'm posting here in general talk.

well, you lose all your bodily waste, you go cold and limp, then you start to rot and stink, and...
the worms crrawl in
the worms crawl out
they play pinochulle on yer snout
the puss comes out like whipping cream
amd you without a spoon...
oh well, schlurrrrrrp!

I believe that when you die, you still live.
Not exactly sure it looks like on the other side, but I know I will see it someday.
When you die in this life time, only your body dies.
The essence of who you are still lives.
No worries.

Relatives fight for what they think or believe they should own.
People try to figure out something good to say about your life for the memorial service or they just lie through their teeth and hold back the sh!tty facts about you.
Some might argue about whether or not you should be buried or cremated, tombstone wording, or ash/urn possession rights.
Credit card applications continue to be delivered at your former residence.
Your pets are given away to stangers or put to sleep.
Estate yard sale for your unwanted junk collected over the years.
People visit your burial plot (if you have one) for 5 years then they just move on with live and maybe visit once every 10 years or so. Random teens might visit your site and kick over your head stone.
You get a few words in your newspapers obituary column.
Your social security number gets suspended and reviewed for death benefits distribution.
Sometimes people you've known or have met think about you.
That's about it.

When the heart stops beating
1. Heart stops beating and/or lungs stop breathing.
2. Body cells no longer receive supplies of blood and oxygen.
•Blood drains from capillaries in the upper surfaces and collects in the blood vessels in the lower surfaces.
•Upper surfaces of the body become pale and the lower surfaces become dark.
3. Cells cease aerobic respiration, and are unable to generate the energy molecules needed to maintain normal muscle biochemistry.
•Calcium ions leak into muscle cells preventing muscle relaxation.
•Muscles stiffen and remain stiff (rigor mortis) until they begin to decompose.
4. Cells eventually die and the body loses its capacity to fight off bacteria.
5. The cells' own enzymes and bacterial activity cause the body to decompose - muscles lose their stiffness.
Timing?
•Brain cells can die if deprived of oxygen for more than three minutes. Muscle cells live on for several hours. Bone and skin cells can stay alive for several days.
•It takes around 12 hours for a human body to be cool to the touch and 24 hours to cool to the core.
•Rigor mortis commences after three hours and lasts until 36 hours after death.
•Forensic scientists use clues such as these for estimating the time of death.

my friend Larry was an undertaker's assitant in st paul, mn, and he lived in an arpartment this guy provided that was at the big old house where he also had his morturary...Larry has some pretty graphic stories you might not think about that happens to us when we die and are laying there finished on a cold slab
