I think online sites like this one are the second best way to meet someone. It's certainly possible to meet someone online who turns out to be a good match if you are persistent. I've gone on dates with several girls I've met online over the years (including one from this site who I still date) and every one has been a fantastic date for us both. Just about all of them have become special people in my life and a few have been friends for years. It’s only by coincidence that I have not felt that special chemistry for any of them...it could have easily happened just as easily as meeting any other way.
I think the best way to meet someone though is always in person. This is mostly because you can never really tell how physically attracted to someone you will be until you actually experience them live and in person. And physical attraction, in spite of what some people may say they believe, is critical to just about everybody. Also, you cannot really evaluate someone's personality well until you experience them in person. So for me, all the serious romantic relationships I have had so far have been with girls I met in person offline.
But for some people, it's easier to meet people online than in person, for various reasons. So for them, it may be the best way to go. I still come here for fun and even still fantasize that my dream girl, the love of my life, is just a click away...you never know...if you don't take it too seriously, the worst that can happen is you have a little fun!

I have met alot of people here but made some good friends but yet I have met some really mean and very dishonest people as well. One was a Nigerian scammer and caused damaged.   So be careful.

Rule #1 Nigeria is a corrupt lawless country full of criminals of the worst kind. If someone you meet on the Internet says they are from Nigeria, there is a 99.9999% chance they are a crook trying to steal your money or worse. Run, don't walk the other way. Nigeria is famous for running fraudulent schemes on innocent victims around the world. It is their main export.
PS: I have spoken to about 25 people in Africa during my years on the Internet. I was able to positively identify at least 20 of them as scammers. The other 5 were probably scammers, but I can't say for sure. I like to play games with these people and then expose them, just to waste their time. The moral of the story is that if you meet someone from any country in Africa online, there is a high probability they are scammers. That probably also holds true for most third world countries elsewhere as well. To them ripping off "rich Americans" is just another business.

Being 59 years old and yes this photo is truly me taken in 2004. I have not changed other than hair getting more grey. I notice men want the younger ladies I guess its their fantasy to have sex machines? Anyway, older women are better at caring and doing housework, thats what I do for a living. Most of the time we cook very well too and we had a lot of experiences down life's road so for those reasons I don't understand why men still want a young frisky woman who is most likely just a moment's fullfillment?

Wow... From what i'm reading here... most people have said its a good thing..I have met a few guys.. from being on line... and lets just say... it was OMG.... why me... i wanted to run home... I'm sure there is a lot of great guys out there... i just don;t understand why some have to lie about them self's.. I wish everyone happiness in finding there true mate
