just heard on the radio there was a poll taken in the UK that 1 out of every 5 men sleep with a teddy bear (no not a 'teddy' and not a bare teddy) sooo made me wonder if the US men sleep with something?? maybe thats why the men in the UK are more tender/caring?? prove me wrong...

No teddy bears (or any other kind of teddy) for me. I'd have to shove the books and notepads off the bed to make room for anything (or anyone) else!

the poll was taken on single men that were at hotels. the others were all sleeping alone... ok, if i met a guy and he pulled out a teddy bear...i think i would definately have second thoughts about any further dates...lol

When I broke my hip 8 years ago and was in the hospital, my class sent me our "class pet", a toy cat, to sleep with and keep me company. Since they were so sincere about it, I slept with the cat!

I love my blankie but only because it's soft and warm and I use it to cover up and snuggle under!

No teddies in this part of the UK but at college I had an English girlfriend of refined background who slept with a lifelong collection of over 100 teddies and even had a set of travelling companion teddies (her top ten favourites). You can imagine my horror waking up there every morning to find myself face to face with a hundred furry, gormless expressions...
Once I woke up like a bear with a sore head. Not realising where I was, I thought "no, I didn't?"
Hey did sleeping with 100 teddies make her a teddy girl?
Hmmm I wouldn't mind a collection of Barbie girls...

I would not go near a guy who slept with a teddy bear. I, however, occasionally sleep with a Rainbow Brite doll
I dunno, something about a grown man sleeping with any kind of plushie freaks me out. Makes me wonder what he does with it when he's alone.

Well, In My opinion, anyone past oh, 15 still sleeping with things, should evaluate why they do. I had TONS of stuffed animals, but they stayed on a shelf.
Again, it's just my opinion.... we have a life-size teddy here, and people pull it over to rest their chin on watching a movie.
I never dissuaded my sons from it....but they never did it

Well I have a ton of toy cats and several real cats, too. I don't sleep with any of them! I just did that in the hospital because my class cared about me and didn't want me to be lonely!

Wasn't an argument dear...just my opinion.
If you are so sad, mad, etc that you cry yourself to sleep...can't you talk to Mom, Dad, sis...pray? Call a friend?

My mother and father usually don't want to hear about my problems =/ I do talk to my friends about my problems when I have them but sometimes it doesn't help....when that happens it feels hopeless, I guess.

When I'm worried or upset about something I try to set up a mental image where everything works out exactly the way I want it to, and keep replaying it with all kinds of pleasant variations...keeps me from dwelling on the bad stuff, and I swear it helps make good stuff happen - it's like the visualization techniques that athletes use - picture the perfect execution you want and keep visualizing yourself doing it, and never, ever, ever concentrate on your mistakes, you'll only repeat them.
JMHO but it works for me. As for teddy bears - I have a bunch of them on a shelf (monkeys, lions, tigers, elephants too) but I know if I ever slept with them I'd end up waking up as I rolled over onto them. My blankie works fine for me..
