Money can buy :

A bed , but not sleep ;

A house, but not a home ;

Education , but not intelligence;

Fun , but not happiness;

Sex , but not love;

Medication , but not health ;

Connections, but not friends;

Office , but not respect;

Crucifix but not faith;

Lot at the cemetery , but not in Heaven.

And it can sure ease the stress when it comes to putting a roof over your head and food on your table!!

(It's a lot easier making a home if you have a house than it is with no place to go but a shelter!)

I'm in a contrary mood this morning..

I think whoever is quoted in the OP has a different working definition of "education" than I do. You can buy books, and you can buy time in a classroom, but you can't buy "education." If you are unwilling to learn, I don't care how much you spend, you remain uneducated.

But, I agree with the OP in essence, in that "intelligence" and education are not equivalent. I have, indeed, known some "educated idiots" in my time. (shrugs) I just don't agree that you can "buy education."

I actually don't mind paying taxes, and if a person really knows what they are doing with the tax code, you can find a lot of various deductions if you keep very careful records of all your financial transactions...anyway, I don't mind paying them for the puiblic services they help provide...except for illegal wars.
