We have threads about complaining so here's one to post about good things in your life.

I have such wonderful giving friends. And now I also have 2 tv's that work and each has 14-15 channels to watch! Yay!!! (and this is due to two of those wonderful friends. One gave me a converter box after the kittens killed mine and the other spent 3 hours tonight putting up an outdoor antenna for me and hooking everything up to the tv's).

My sweet son-in-law and grandson this evening used my ex's logsplitter and split and stacked enough wood to get me thru the winter.

Beats the heck out of paying for cable.
I set my house of for the dtv transition as well, with external antenna wire run to every room.
It sure does look a lot better than the old fuzzy analog tv.

My other house is 50 miles north of Tampa, and since i have an antenna with a long range I get 30 channels crystal clear.
You might be surprised what you can get with a good antenna.
I mounted mine 28 feet off the ground, and it has dual VHF elements.
Since all the stations are not in the same direction, I can point the 2 elements in different directions, this allows me to get all the stations.

LOL Gunn--yep you sure are a big mouth! (jk)

I'm 25 miles from San Antonio out in the country. My antenna is about 8 feet up and I'm getting really great reception. I paid about $100 total for the antenna, splitter box and cables. No monthly fees for me! And since I don't watch the tv that much (I put it on mainly for company as the cats don't talk much!), all those channels are cool. Of course about half are in Spanish but still I'm getting several more than I did with analog. I'm just glad we finally got it all set up. (Now if the raccoons just don't come back and chew on the outdoor cable, I'm all set! )

Edited to add: More of my wonderful friends are donating money to the Cat Rescue! Thank you thank you thank you. And I know the cats and kittens thank you, too!

The hugs my teenage (17 & 15) children still willingly give me . . . even in front of their friends.

The grins and giggles from my 3 and 2 yr old grandsons.. kids have a way of keeping you grounded and grateful for the simple pleasures of life

After going from a full head of hair, to bald, to baby fuzz I am now back to a thick, full head of hair Just got my hair trimmed for the 3rd time in 2 months. It's growing in so fast and thick I can barely keep up with it.. isn't that a great problem to have?

Good thing about taking a 'time out' on MD.. you learn to evaluate what's important and not so important.. you learn more about people(sometimes more then you want to know) and then you can step back into the MD light after learning how to laugh whereas before you may have been intolerant of others ignorance and put downs. It really is about acceptance

Thank you Sign for starting this thread.. glad you finally got your tv going again!
