my name is from Latin gratia, from gratus, pleasing.
i've always liked reading about names and their etymology.
i have a book entitled the hidden truth of your name: a complete guide to first names and what they say about the real you..
qabbalistic synopsis:
it says the letter gimel means camel and represents travel or exploration; i'm exploratory, daring, inventive and always ready to take on the next challenge.
runic interpretation
i have a need to travel and try different points of view before arriving at a sense of wholeness. the ansuz rune helps me to become more intuitive as i seek balance: she no longer lives according to the opinion of others but seeks her own higher counsel. (imho, tries anyway).
numerological interpretation
i'm one of deep feelings and capable of creating a harmonious and eautiful environment. it says i need to shine in my own right and usually do so. i like the intimate and familiar and make total strangers feel welcome. my family is the center of my life, and i like critters.
i'd be happy to look up other names. this book amazes me about myself. it even mentions derivatives of my name, my principal colors, gemstones, etc. it's a lot of fun and informative.

ok. i'll let u look it up on the website for the roots.
qabbalistic
robins are intelligent and witty and can find loopholes in any situation; they would make ideal business advisors. robins seek someone to share fun things in life. they can be very serious at work, but they want to relax at home.
runic
robins love kids but may not have any of their own. they like plants and animals and will gravitate to nvrionments where people and ideas can blossom. robins are gentle and might do well illustrating children's books or writing tv scripts and songs for kids.
numerological
robins are very dedicated to their plans and projects; they won't let up until they finish their tasks. this name is usuallly connected with highly creative people like writers, artists and artisans. they're usually quite financially oriented. they have a very strong need for security and may overemphasize the financial aspect of things in their general dealings in life.

There is really no mystery in my name. It is Stephanie. I was named after my maternal great grandfather Stephen. Stephanie is Greek meaning crown of flowers something like that.

I got sea monkeys in a box of cereal long time ago! You had to put them in water and watch them become little swimmers.

I think mine ranks right up there in the top two or three names in the world. Seems that every language has it's own version of John.
