Speaking of other places, those who are really into FB, caution is advised. They have huge security concerns this last week or so. Seems a lot of private information (User and Contact Data) got shared with the wrong people.
This apparently applies even more so to those using some of the major games, like for instance Farmville and others similar to that, although the other specifics escape me.
They've said they're sorry, and didn't intend for that to happen.
The first thing I found troubling about FB way back was, that they wanted users to share too much personal information, including uploading all personal contacts. For me, that was a red flag.

I have a account at FB.. My user name is 'Fred Zifflemeyer the 3rd  " , or not. 
Anywho, I do have an account thier, but use it very little. One of the first things that bothered me was that, it appears I can not have a conversation with anyone on their without it being blasted to everyone on my friends list.
So everyone is forced to see what i am saying, no matter how trivial.
There is a bug biting my finger. blast 
Talk about self aggrandizement.. Believe me, I'm not that important.

I have an account there too, but just barely.
When they said 'now upload all your contacts to us', I went into some level of shock, wondering also how many times my own info had already graced their databases via other members with no ill-intentions.
The concept of broadcasting everything to everyone is also troubling too. And theoretically using one's real name.
A lot of folks innocently don't think much about it, but uploading your address books (anywhere), forwarding emails with all the addresses exposed, listing your real name at various sites, posting an email openly on the Web, or giving up personal contact information, makes spammers, hackers, ID pirates and foreign scammers wring their hands with pure delight! 
It also breaches the entrusted confidence of your other contacts. It doesn't quite justify a firing squad at dawn, but its much better not to unknowingly expose your associates that way.

One thing I know is that I won't put any private info on here or on FB other than my name and lacation (certainly not my address). I'd like for people I know to find me, not people I don't know. If I want to share personal info here or on FB or anywhere else, there's always email withing the site or IM's (IM's are for paying members here)

I'm looking for a job to supplement my business income so I'm not on as much lately. I have to get my booty to bed earlier (sigh). I'm still here reading though every chance I get; I just haven't been posting as much.
It does look as if some that we normally debate have disappeared. Punk was booted, MF was booted, and I'm not sure who all else left on their own..

Southerners need to get over their secession and the Civil War. Being proud of being a separate entity from the United States, calling out Northerners for being "YANKEEEZZZ" and then saying stuff like "THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN". It bothers me that
A) You (collective) think you're better than us for whatever reason
and
B) You call yourself patriotic Amurrcans while also being proud of the fact that nearly 2 hundred years ago your region of the country committed treason.

However that's not to say we are all exactly the same.
Because we're simply not.
You need to find your funnybone. Don't take everything so seriously. Be able to chuckle about things every once in a while.  And recognize jokes when you see them.
