I'm not sure that anyone ever really leaves here...
Of course there are some. RightWingRepublican for one. I miss her.
But do most come back eventually?
This site does have an actual family feel to it in that real relationships and friendships are made here that are taken from offline to real time. I think this is rare and that this site is special.

There are just far too many whiners around here that can't take what they dish out themselves. It's too bad too because I have enjoyed Punk time even though he does go overboard once in a while. At least he shows that he has a good heart unlike those whiners.

that Ppunk sure was a hard charger, but perhaps the mania wasn't driven solely by religiousity. 
anyway, all the batty right-wing god-fearing tea-baggers in this wacky dysfunctional Md family do seem to stick together a bit more closer that do us progressive-liberal independants and democranks.

I saw that. I found it both interesting and surprising, to be honest. It's so rare nowadays.
As for Punk....he's been around as long or longer than I have. I knew him waaaaaaaay back thru the chat room here. He's always been controversial....and he's always had his commonsense nice side, too. This is not the first time he's disappeared, I'm sure it won't be the last....whether by choice or otherwise.
What I still don't understand is why is it always someone else's fault when something like this happens? I mean, everyone knows this site is moderated. Of course, some times not as much as others.....but it's up to the powers that be how often they check in & where they look & what they do. It's like I said when accusations were hurled at me...taking personal responsibility is half the battle.

People leave for a lot of reasons, but bottom line, if you get booted, it's because of your own behavior. The only person responsible for that is you.
I come and go a lot. If I'm here, it's usually from boredom (like being sick). Otherwise, I have too much to do, and can't waste my time on nonsense that has no relevance in the real world.
Occasionally, there's a thread here that stimulates my mind to participate in, or I'm inspired to write a blog, but mostly, the silliness and drama is boring. Always interesting to see who's buttons get pushed by what, though
And interesting to see who actually has the ability of forgiveness, and which ones don't. Who can pass up an opportunity to create drama and take sides and who doesn't. (Kudos to those that don't!) Which ones are interested in an exchange of ideas and concepts, and can state opinions and disagree without getting/taking it personally.
And yeah, I can see why the mod is peeved.
