While most people are familiar with Eisenhower's final address in which he warns Americans of the military industrial complex, less attention is paid to another statement made by Eisenhower.

In 1958, Eisenhower received a letter from a US WWII veterans named Biggs. Biggs cajoled Eisenhower. He said, I

“felt from your recent speeches the feeling of hedging and a little uncertainty. We wait for someone to speak for us and back him completely if the statement is made in truth.”

In response, Eisenhower wrote:

"I doubt that citizens like yourself could ever, under our democratic system, be provided with the universal degree of certainty, the confidence in their understanding of our problems, and the clear guidance from higher authority that you believe needed. Such unity is not only logical but indeed indispensable in a successful military organization, but in a democracy debate is the breath of life.”

Eisenhower's letter continued with a caution to Biggs that every dictator needs a citizen that doesn't seek information and needs to feel relieved from the burdens of thought and decision making so necessary to life in a free society.

We are not broke,,it has to do with priorities and where we spend our money.

And national security expenses provide a firewall shield against a sovereign state being extinguished or abolished by foreign military conquest. or foreign civil invasion; all other aspects of governance, such as infrastructure, public roads, and air quality take a secondary priority to all bona fide national security interests.

Nations that have been extinguished include Carthage, the Roman Empire, the Egyptian Empire of the Pharoes, the Babylonian Empire, The Kingdom of the Hittites, Phonecia of the Medeterranean coasts, the Holy Roman Empire, (which existed in central and northern europe and differs from Rome) the Kingdom of the Huns, the five dynasties and ten Kingdoms of China, the Kingdoms of the Moguls and others in India, the Kingdoms of the Viking berserkers, the Ottoman Empire, the Russian Empire of the Czar, the Imperial Austro-Hungarian Empire, and except to an insubstantial degree, the Realm of the Knights of Malta, the Zulu Kingdom, the Papal States, and also the Kingdom of Tibet. Each of these sovereign nations had their national security first endangered, and then each in turn was destroyed, and the fall of their house was exceedingly final.

Accordingly, since national security risks abound, and history is replete with the rotting carcases of extinguished and abolished nations, prudence requires that the United States of America maintain military hegemony over Planet Earth as the sole SuperPower, ready, able and willing to act as the global "hammer" that deals militarily and swiftly with any "nail" that raises its ugly head, as national negligence and stupidity often was the proximate result of a state on the world stage being overwhelmed and destroyed, with its peoples dragged into captivity.

Indeed, the organizing principle of all nations is its war powers, which is the basis which provides that soldiers who are cowards in the face of the enemy, or who disobey orders and mutiny in a time of war may be executed. It is also the reason why nations have military conscription laws and why in the USA, individual states possess laws on the books which quietly place everyone in the unorganized militia, subject to instant muster into the state militia, upon issuance of an executive order on the part of the Governor as commander in chief of the state militia.

Journalists have been suspect, ever since during the Viet Nam War they embedded themselves with the Viet Cong and then lay in wait for Americans to walk into a trap while the journalists present made no warning and watched American soldiers get butchered.

That is NOT journalism, that is performing propaganda services for the enemy.

In this video, the dead journalists were buddy buddy with insurgents carrying an RPG the mere presence of which places American troops in the area in jeopardy.

Should NOT have associated with armed Iraqi insurgents.

Accordingly, the threat was neutralized.

A lot of GI's celebrate when any "Newsy" is shot in combat. A lot of the time, journalists act as spies who release too much sensitive information to the enemy.
