From The Daily Beast:

Rush Limbaugh Scandal Proves Contagious for Talk-Radio Advertisers
Ninety-eight major advertisers—including Ford and Geico—will no longer air spots on Premiere Networks’ ‘offensive’ programs. Insiders say the loss will rock right-wing talk radio.
Rush Limbaugh made the right-wing talk-radio industry, and he just might break it.

Because now the fallout from the “slut” slurs against Sandra Fluke is extending to the entire political shock-jock genre.

Premiere Networks, which distributes Limbaugh as well as a host of other right-wing talkers, sent an email out to its affiliates early Friday listing 98 large corporations that have requested their ads appear only on “programs free of content that you know are deemed to be offensive or controversial (for example, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, Tom Leykis, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity).”

This is big. According to the radio-industry website Radio-Info.com, which first posted excerpts of the Premiere memo, among the 98 companies that have decided to no longer sponsor these programs are “carmakers (Ford, GM, Toyota), insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, Prudential, State Farm), and restaurants (McDonald’s, Subway).” Together, these talk-radio advertising staples represent millions of dollars in revenue.

I think the biggest Comment of this story is:

Women ages 24–55 are the prize advertising demographic, and you have a perfect storm emerging after Limbaugh’s Sandra Fluke comments.

Awwwe Tom Leykis too? He da man!

I listened to him over 10 years straight until a scandal broke out at Westwood One many years ago. He was funny and ruthless as hell but HE WAS FAIR. Seattle misses him.

As for the other douchecocks....... GOOD RIDDANCE!

Especially the cigar smoker?

I think that Rush should announce to his "Ditto Heads" the "Toxic Ten" top ten companies who boycott his show, for the Ditto Heads to boycott, plus feature an 11th firm to be boycotted as the "economic target of the week" to make sure that all 98 firms get a taste of Ditto Head economic revenge.

For instance, in addition to the "Toxic Ten" if the Economict Target of the week is State Frarm Insurancde, Dittohead State Farm Insurance customers should drop their policies that week and in writing state the reason for doing so is the company's boycott of Rush Limbaugh.

Lets cause some cost to be levied here. The 98 firms need to feel the pain in the wallet, where it counts the most.

They made a policital stand, so lets politicize the Toxic Ten and all of the other 88 firrms as the Economic Targets of the Week. Let the Ditto Heads systematically pull their business from the listed firms.

When Limbaugh Laughs Last, good things happen.

I take it all of you do not believe in free speech????
When did this country decide what can be said by anyone??

Maybe you should all look into another country if you don't believe that as Americans, we all have this right. I am so tired of people being worried and outraged by what radio people or tv media say about others.

There are so many things wrong and all ya can do is act like a Viper when people do use this free speech.

free speech is a good thing.. but there are cases where out and out lying and BS spinning ..goes too far...

as rush is finding out...

where in the constitution does it say that anyone can lie about things and still be protected by free speech??

I think Rush used poor judgment to say what he did. Its true he can say anything, but that doesn't mean it was tasteful On The Air, which should be a different standard IMO.

However I am pretty sure Rush realizes what he did wasn't advisable. He admitted it, and he's paying the price.

But I am now waiting to see when they are all going to boycott HBO, MSNBC, Current TV, and others, who are every bit as bad, or worse.

Bill Maher for instance, is just an ugly ugly dude, inside and out, through and through. Ideology aside, he has no respect for anybody but himself. And that face of his would stop a clock!

Premiere syndicates some of the most famous names and programs in American broadcasting, including The Rush Limbaugh Show, Coast to Coast AM, Jim Rome, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Leo Laporte, and Randi Rhodes.

.. the last name listed...has another thread devoted to her here....

He has that effect on a LOT of people. Me included. They showed him with a date at some party. She's almost as ugly as he is. And she appeared to be a hooker, down on her luck!

I think Huckabee will begin to take share from Limbaugh. He'll talk about a lot of the same stuff but do it in a way that's less offensive and capture the same right-wing audience.

"Cumulus Broadcasting - who owns several Rush affiliates, namely WABC New York - is also launching a new talk show from former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee next month. Company president Lew Dickey claims that Huckabee - who kinda replaced Paul Harvey when the legendary newsman died a few years ago - will present a show that isn't confrontational, but rather conversational."

Heck has a show on FoxNews every Saturday or Sunday.

I don't recall which exactly. Its probably a repeat both nights.
But its pretty good. He's actually had his own unofficial debates a few times. He calls them Presidential Forums.

He just arranges for all the candidates to show up and each has equal time to be interviewed or to answer questions from various interested parties.

One rule he insists on is that nobody attack the other candidates.
