It looks like the state of the union is pretty much as it was in early March, of 1861. We seem to be a country very divided. Pretty much nothing new here - nothing to see... move along.

It's easy to see why nothing gets done in congress.

i didn't even bother to watch....to be honest i can't even stomach any of them/it any more including the media coverage... doesn't matter what flavor they are.... ....they'd disagree about what freaking day it was to keep from having to be accountable or be honest about anything ...in my book none of them are worth spitting on anymore .........just a waste of spit.....
my 2 cent rant..............

Hey... it wasn't a bad speech.

i mean, if you take it on face value.

i like the part where he talked about the match doctor forum posters...

he said we talk too much, and don't actually meet. i thought that was pretty spot on. i'm reasonably sure he was talking about us in particular.

His speach on schools: Only a few days ago his wife announced that USA is donating (15 million) school books to africa. Ok....UMMM, we nice country no? Well, now we are setting up an AIDS program too! So where are all the new school books for our students I wonder.

One of Clinton's strongest camgaign slogans was to make our schools more productive and educated. Since then, I don't see anything has been done.

Maybe that is one of the reasons why only 33% of the people polled approve of Bush anymore. Can't really say he represents the people in this country when 67% disagree with what he is doing. Maybe we should call him the African president.

I enjoyed it. I like the part where he would say something and one side would jump up and applaude, then the other side would do it too when they liked what he said.
At least he did put some humour in his speech though. The part about his dads favorite "baby boomers".

The funniest part was when he complained that he couldn't get progress on "reforming" entitlements - and all the Democrats applauded.

All in all, it wasn't a bad State of the Union address. I did like the shot of Hillery when he mentioned Bill though.
