Why Why Why Can't they READ the profile?

This has really made me wonder about whether or not people actually read profiles before winking at someone.
I just got a wink from someone who is 30 some years outside my desired age range. I don't get this. I have it specifically stated in my profile that there is a certain age range that I'm interested in. If you can't be considerate enough to read someone's profile and understand that they aren't interested in someone 30 freaking years older than you... don't wink at them. And given that respect and consideration should be something that you "bring to the table" when meeting others, so to speak, if you can't respect something in someone's profile on a dating site, how are you going to have these morals in the real world?
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all about making friends also. And I would definitely like to make new friends here, but I think a wink is different because the "winkER" is doing so because they like the "winkEE" and they aren't necessarily doing the "winkING" because they want to become "friends" Case in point: I've NEVER been winked at nor have I ever winked at another female.
Okay... Off my soap box. This was JUST a vent. No need to bash me or anything. Just trying to figure a few things out.

MD - I hear ya! I just delete them, but still... I get happy when I get a wink - considering how many ppl have viewed my profile, there's just so few that have actually winked - only to get disappointed when it's from someone that isn't in the age range I like. I would have to say that I'll stray a few years older (or younger if they're mature), not 30 years!

 Make it longer then they won`t read it they`ll just analyze it like they do mine 
Actually they probably do read your profile but just want to see if your willing to make an exception.

You know, it still confuses me about why people are actually BOTHERED when someone who doesn't interest them winks at them.. I mean, I don't care who winks at me, I've even been winked at by guys on here, and all I do is have a laugh about it.. wink wink away everybody, winky winky winky winky..

Try because I'm new here so cut me some slack. If it has been posted before, I apologize. I guess we'll have to enlist a crack team of experts to bash everyone else who's already started a new thread on "old stuff" eh? Care to sign up Pete?

They probably figure you would make an exception for them because they're so darn wonderful. And who made the rule that we're supposed to read the profiles? You're assuming everyone here can read.

Don't take a "wink" so personal! It's a less intrusive way of paying a compliment, than sending mail to you! And if you are going to ask that amazing question "why can't they read the profile" you should ask why don't they read and comprehend anything? Let's face it we're damned if we do and damned if we don't!

I get winked at by these old geezers in their 60's everyday too and its irritating to see your wink box flashing only to click on the wink and see its form somebody out in BFE 2000 miles away and nothing in common on the profile and NO photo. Last night I had some 24 year old in Va wink and send me an email wrote back said got kids tht age but was very flattered and left it at that.

Don't forget...its so awful and time consuming for people to get winks that they cant be bothered to see whos winking... ...just delete em all and who cares if its someone whos truly interested in you but doesnt know if you'd be interested.... ...and dont use the its better to email reason cuz i dont get responses but then again im not a pretty boy or a doctor...
