Considering...
“Here’s one we could have done at Super Bowl I,” Jagger wryly said in introducing “Satisfaction.”
How could they not know those lyrics were coming???

And who on the planet hasn't heard those lyrics. Some of us oldies remember the Stones on the Ed Sullivan show - singing their hit song, "Let's spend some time together".
Really, I agree with the article that having the Stones performing in Detroit was a bit of a snub of all the great Motown artists. I could have gone the rest of my life without hearing Satisfaction again or seeing Mick's arm skin flapping in the breeze.

Thanks for the vote on Motown acts...it's nice to hear someone other than us Detroiters saying that! I only listened to the half time show..but was disappointed in it all..we have some great musicians from this area, it would have been wonderful if they had used more than 1...
as for dear old Mick...lol I think he did say twy..and in Satisfaction it was horrid the way it was edited for content..again totally agree that everyone knows wht the song says..and what was that second song..I don't think I had ever heard it before

Having the Rolling Stones at half-time of the Super Bowl is like having Dolly Parton sing
between games at the Chinese Ping-Pong Championships.
After all, this is America and, the last I read, Detroit is still an Ameircan city.
Okay, so it is known as "Hockeytown." It is still in the US.
It is not as though the game was in North Dakota where the only music they know
is buffalo groans or wild geese honkings.
Good Grief! We certainly have enough talent here to provide entertainment
for the PREMIER American Sports Event.
Even if it was not "Motown," which, of course, would have been most appropriate.
Plus, the message the NFL is sending is clear.
Drugs are okay for our entertainers; we just don't want our players to test positive.
One thing for certain...
None of the recent nonsense would have occurred when Pete Rozelle was Commissioner.
As for the "Next Best Channel" ... they will never match ABC Sports.

All in all, I guess it was appropriate to have such a lame half time during an equally bogus game. Even Steeler fans aren't happy. A lot say it was just a hollow victory because of the officiating. Now what? The super bowl of officials to test which ones can actually handle calling the next game?

They have made a few cars there;

I was just waiting for a live on TV heart attack. That would have changed the tone for the game.

Me, too, Katt!! As a matter of fact, reading this, it reminded me of hearing quite a bit as a child..........
Whenever traffic was heavy and we had to wait and wait to pull out onto a street, my Mom or Dad would always say, "Looks like Detroit let out!!!"
