Firemen and paramedics. Everybody else has a gun or something to protect themselves when they go into who knows what to save people.

My Father for showing me that when dignity is all you have left, you still have something worth holding on to.
My oldest child - for being brave through four surgeries and smiling even when she was in pain and on a morphine drip.

My son. He has been through more than most people I know (at any age!), and has made himself into a productive person with a great attitude.
I definitely think he's worth looking up to.
What a neat topic!

Yep, great topic.
Biggest heroes? Way too many to count.
Perhaps (amazing post) and Jankia about covered it for me regarding our military heroes that have paid the ultimate price and sacrifice.
All the rest for giving parents their obvious due. I know mine are my heroes.
As for historical figures?
All our Founding Fathers.
Abraham Lincoln
Franklin Roosevelt
Nelson Mandela
Martin Luther King
Albert Einstein
Bob Dylan (partly for just surviving...lol)
….just as importantly, all the men and women that have toiled throughout history and in obscurity to make their lives and those around them better, not for their own ego or money, but because in their heart they knew it was right.

There is no person on earth worth looking to for guidance or as a role model. Everyone has faults and that precludes putting them on any sort of pedestal. Personally I look to a perfect higher power, Jesus Christ. Never found anyone that could even come close so I really don't look to any person, never have. Don't have any dissapointments either.

However Perhaps Love's post was very very good. There are some people that could stand to read that, doubt that they will see it though.

My heros are the people that make me think, are positive energy to me and whom I think about often. It can be family, friends or strangers that cross my path and make a difference.

My mother. She's always been very supportive and honest with me, even when I didn't want to hear the truth about most situations.
My brother, for pulling through all the obstacles he's faced.
Sara, for dealing with the reality of life at such a young age.
These people are people I know personally and who I love and care for.
