WTF.. Ok I will try to explain this again but I am sure it will be pulled off the boards AGAIN!! In "HELP" there is a topic "Question About Forum Viewing". It got locked before MD addressed. Ok So I then posted another thread in HELP "Question About Forum Viewing 2" It got pulled off also. Then I came here and posted a new thread "NonMDMembers Viewing our Profiles" It got pulled also!?!?!?  My question is why is MD not addressing this. This being that anyone can view MDers profiles, forum posts and blogs. My question to MD is why is this? Is this the way you want it or is this somethin you may change? Thats the only effin question I have for MD. So why are they avoidin that question and pulling threads on it?!
My other question to MDers is how do you feel that NonMembers can view everythin here? I am only wantin opinions not attacks for as I seem to believe this must be a touchy subject as it has been pulled 2 times already!

On the one hand, I don't have a problem with it. Maybe if they can see who's here, it'll entice them to join.
On the other hand, it doesn't seem quite fair that they can see us - but we can't see them!
On the OTHER hand (yeah, that makes three) - Pete doesn't have a bad idea there. Let's all get together tonight and go get bombed!!!

This is a PUBLIC forum. It is not a private message board. In order for MD to do what you want, it would turn into a private message board (or you would have to pay. I think any way on this on)
If some one isn't sure if they want to join, they need to be able to see what it might be like first.

I understand this is a free site. There are alot of free sites where the forums are not public. You have to be a member to view them. I also understand that this bein a 'datin site' that some may wanna view the members before they sign up. But there are paying members here. And if I was payin money for this shiat I would want it to be a lil more private. Maybe at least where nonmembers couldnt see the forum or blogs. I really dont like people seeing my profile if they are not a member, but thats just me.
Why do ya'll think MD is avoiding these questions?

I am sure they are thinking of how they can do this. I am not sure of HOW to do this though.
I guess, in order to view the forums, you should be a member. I don't know,,,,,, 
See, it really doesn't matter to me one way or another though. If some one really wants to know what you are talking about over the net they will find a way I bet.
Everything we do or say on the internet Can be viewed by some one .........

There are two major reasons: Education and Welfare
Education...
The teacher needs to talk with the teacher across the hall, so she thinks of an assignment
the kids can do online.
The aides, of course, are "busy" cleaning blackboards
(which have not been used since the interent)
or making fresh coffee in the teachers' lounge.
The kids jump online; open their IM's and have a great time finding out
who Annabella's Mom is dating or wants to date and get all the latest skinny
on who's doing what to whom in the sex threads.
It provides entertainment until the period is over and the kids get a preview
of what they want to tune in to view later.
Welfare...
Every welfare momma is now issued a computer
along with their taxi-cab vouchers and food stamps.
They scour the websites - looking for likely prospects to father their next child
so they can get an increased allotment and never have to join the workforce.
(Heaven Forbid!)
By keeping the welfare rolls to overflowing, the bureaucratic vegetables
employed at the office and all suporting agencies are able to insure
their continued employment while they keep THEIR IM's open and pretend they are busy.
Meanwhile, some liberal social service whiner comes up with yet another idea
for a new agency to drain the taxpayer.

Interesting read of course. But you also brought up another reason I dont like bein viewed by nonmembers. Kids! OMG I didnt think of.... well I wont even mention what I was thinkin cuz it WILL offend some ppl but I know how these teens are they get curious and they are always lookin for somethin to laugh at. I have sat and watched teens go to somewhat similar sites just to get a laugh. Holy Shiat LoL I would hate for my bunch to read some of the crap I have talked about.. mainly anythin that has to do with sex LoL Ok Thanks PL you gave me a diff view on this matter I will now adjust my profile.

Can you just imagine someone's child reading that their parent likes to "eat children"?

This site does not require proof of age or anything! Kids can and do say they are 18 or older.
So what anyone can browse here? Anyone can browse Yahoo personals and regular profiles without a Yahoo ID.
Same is true for MSN.
To me, it's a form of privacy, what's left of it, and you want them to take it away?

The real question here is not whether or not the forums should be viewed, but rather why doesn't MD answer the question? Would that be too much to ask? Even if it's to say - It's our forum, we'll do whatever we want... that's better than just wiping out the posts and not answering... geez... Glad I'm not dating any moderators... sounds like they have a communication problem.

Pete's right. Whatever their reasons for leaving it open, at least MD could answer the question. Personally, I didn't know until recently, very, very recently, that all of this could be viewed off site. As for it being viewed by non-members, I think it has always had that aspect, just that you couldn't post if you weren't a member. Luckily I rarely have much of interest to say, to myself or to others. The only thing that minors are going to get from my posts are a penchant for puns, some Gilbert and Sullivan and a trace of decent spelling.

I just don't see what's so hard about
1) adressing our question (which keeps getting zapped)
and
2) being required to sign-up/sign-in to read profiles, forums, etc. (who's online 'thumbnails' could be the "bait"...not a lot of highly personal -- stalkable -- info given there) Heck, we have to sign in to read the Washington Post or the LA Times!

Like PerhapsLove said,anyone,anywhere can read about you and what you have to say about anything in these forums.Just like in public if you dont want anyone to know your opinions,you dont give them to anyone unless you just want a certain person to know.
Any of the worthless crap I read on these forums I doubt the same people writing them would say them in public.
If they do, it is certainly a good way to find out who you have no interest in reading about or dating for that matter.

I've decided it's no longer feasible or safe to be honest and open amongst what I thought was a "controlled setting".
Anyway, it's been fun reestablishing my life here among new friends and old...not wise, but fun.
For once in her life, Sunny's going to TRY to be at a loss for words...

PS I say the same worthless crap in public and haven't ever had trouble finding friends (or more) here or elsewhere. I guess that reflects the quality of people I tend to gravitate toward ~sigh~
