Many women's profiles go out of their way to specify that the man must exercise "good hygiene" . And yet, if a man put the same request in his profile (especially since quite a few women could pay more attention to their hygiene) most, if not all women would find this to be "insulting"!

I agree with you totally. My other pet peeve are the women who are requesting a man who will take them to Europe France, England, Scotland etc. at least twice each year. I wonder how they might feel if I requested a woman to take ME travelling? Might just upset them. eh?

Would you say the women are being too picky?
I would never say that in a profile, but boy,I sure hope that anyone whether they are male or female are practising good hygeine.*wink*
Oh,and the ones requesting travel from you are just users. That is a good way to sort out the ones you don't need.
*running to check my profile*LOL

if you are confident in your hygiene than you should trust that women are confident in theirs also. russian women with hair on their legs? jamaican women with hairy armpits? these if they were ever true are things of the past. women want to look their best in this world and i thank them for it. by the way....did you brush your teeth tonight?

Wow, I never put that request in my profile.... I guess I just took it for granted that "hygiene" is something everyone would just pay attention to..... I never go anywhere without a shower, having brushed my teeth, deodorant, and perfume.... I've never met a man that didn't take care of himself either....hmmmmm.... Europe twice a year? I like to travel but not necessarily outside the U.S..... and I only want to go with someone who wants the same thing.... Darn, WHO are these women anyway????

kind of like men asking for thin, petite women...
what kills me is if someone is really BIG they are still looking for that petite mate...oh well, their choice.
as for me, as long as they are breathing, have MOST of their own teeth, and can say 'yes'...they're fine!

EXACTLY! the same guys moan about women being vain, but they kick n scream if she doesnt weigh the same as a dorito. i laugh n keep going when i c all the contraints in a profile. and if a woman is telling someone where she wants to travel, its probably because some guys have written n cried 2 them about the lack of sex, how they woke up in the a.m. like bob ("male enhancement commercials").
maybe what goes around does come back. i hope its consistent. and if i have to tell someone not to stink, i wouldn't bother with them at all. just walk away -- upwind of course.

My favorite pet peeve is glamour pics. Women always say they are looking for honesty. How honest is a glamour pic?

Same as a dorito?... lol
Men are visually stimulated. It is hard wired. That's the way it is. Direct all complaints to the manufacturer.

hahaha worst turn off is the guys request for young barbie and they are twice the age ... reality check fellows ... you have to have money and it wont be for you but your money in 99%of the cases .. or the request of skinny minnie ...
for me it dont matter i clearly would not even dream of making such an assumption .. cause one thing is for sure every person is beautiful and be it the way he/she cants the head, smiles, giggles , walks, whatever a movement of the hand ...
but yes i agree ... women are picky ... but so are the guys if not worse then the women

When you exercise good hygeine, do you put in on a leash and walk it? Or are there some hygeine parks were it can romp free with other pet hygeines? Is a hygeine friendly? Maybe my dog would like to play with a little hygeine some day?

Having not read too many female profiles much of this comes as a surprise...Requests for European travel??!!
Never ceases to amaze me though....The requests, the desires, the personal preferences, the variety of interests...and many times these people match up & make it work.
oh
Not really addressing the thread here, am I?
"Turn off in women's profiles"
With the number of "single & looking" out there...evidenced right here in MatchDoctor...These horrifying profile requests DO help weed out the ...the....uh .. the ones with whom you'd prefer to not meet.
(Lovin' the way I take grammar & twist it to my needs)

nope. not all men allow their hormones 2 dictate how they choose a woman 2 love. the ones who are shallow will most likely get the same in return, and they deserve it.
just because i was raised one way doesn't mean i must die in the same manner.

also i wonder why many men even dont read the womens profiles before to write...they see an attractive pic and dont need more...but usually in a profile u can find some criteria, for example,i asking for some age-but many men ignoring it. dunno whats the use.

Really? A man can chant the politically correct mantra "Looks don't matter" all day long, and then an attractive woman walks by and his head turns. Looks are not everything, but they DO matter. Any man who tells you otherwise is BSing you and/or himself.

I agree with you, Greystone. The good thing is, different people are attracted to different things. Some don't mind extra weight and some don't mind bald heads and some don't mind big noses and so forth. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So I think people should really not get angry when someone says they want a certain look in someone else. It's better to be honest, in my opinion. :)
