Here is an opportunity for the firearms enthusiasts to discuss their favorite weaponry of choice.
I currently only own a couple......
Taurus 9mm semi-auto pistol
Remington 30-30
Ruger 10-22 rifle
Derringer .22 revolver (American Arms I think)
Romanian made SAR1 (AK-47)
My next will be a cheap SKS (I already have the 30 rd clip for it) and a 12 guage shotgun (possibly mossberg)

Ahhhhhhh.......the Model 1911 A1........one of the best guns ever produced. I traded the one I had several years ago, it still had the original waffle print walnut grips and had the "eagle" stamp which meant it was produced for war......the serial number on the one I had showed it was produced in 1919. I miss it much.

Yeah, but you couldnt afford the bullets......I dont think that one would be as much fun with a 3 round burst.

Only a few better feelings ( they belong in another fourm at this site) feels as good as pumping off 50-60 rounds ...big stress reliver and tons of fun .skeet shooting ...or just plinking cans . Don't nessacarly need to be shooting at a living creature ...but thats fun too 
I know its been said and you've heard it before ...tell me the last time a gun killed a person?...as far as i know only people have killed other people

irish I agree with you 100% guns havent killed a single thing.
it lays there unable to move or to function until a hand picks it up and decides what to do with it. the person attached to the hand decides if the action of pulling the trigger will kill defend, feed someone ect.
The same arguments against guns can be used for knives. a knife can kill, and have been used to kill others ALOT longer than guns have been around. but you dont hear of knife control or having to have a license to own a kitchen knife.
the reason to collect a gun are the same as collecting anything else to me.
a gun is a magnificent piece of engineering and has gone through amazing transformations through time..
there are enough variations of these devices that a man would be hard pressed to own one example of each for each year it was made.
wow guess I had more to say here than I intended lmao  oh and for the record lol, I don't collect guns personally to paraphrase a movie quote "never said I didnt like guns, just havent had a use for em"
I'm a sword collector myself, another long line of beautifully crafted devices.

Man, you can go to a gun show and clean up on some cheap Pakistani swords these days!!! I couldnt believe how cheap they were selling these things for........I wouldnt even think the metal would be that affordable, much less the workmanship!!
Oh, and about the not needing a gun so far......by the time you do need one, and dont have it, its too late
Please, please, pleaseeeeee......dont be THAT guy who brought the sword to a gunfight!!!

Wench some of us don't collect em we use em for hunting and shooting sports. Guys to a gun never killed anyone the person did.

I use to own a Mossberg 440 pump, and a 22 rifle. I couldn't shoot a living thing-ever, but we have at least two areas where shooting skeet or target is allowed. It's awesome going to the one the police use-they have some amazing weapons. The other place is just an appliance dump and we shoot old stoves, etc.
A friend of mine thought he'd be funny and load deer slugs in the 12 gauge and it knocked me ass over backward down the hill. He's not a good friend anymore.

Not being American I just wanted to ask what it is you guys are allowed to buy and keep....can you buy almost any type of gun and as many as you want and keep them at home ?...or are you restricted to a certain calibre of gun ?

When I get out of the city limits, I will. Not legal to discharge a firearm within the city limits. If I go out to the woods for a day, I can always just borrow one of my brother's. He has an arsenal. His gun safe is the size of a closet!

Steve it depends on where you live what you can own. Here where I live we can own darn near any gun we want. Even a full auto if we get the permits required.

"Old Buck"-Browning A-Bolt 30-06 ( a lefty)
BRowning Lever Action .308(can't remember the model at the moment)
Remington 870 12 ga(loaded with 00 buck and sitting right next to my headboard) Also a lefty.
Don't hunt so much any more.Getting to old,fat,and out of shape.But I sure fish like h$ll LOL
