Here's the answer to that age old question:
It's all about the process. If you are in the process of filling a glass, when you get to the halfway point, the glass is half full.
If you are in the process of emptying a glass, when you get to the halfway point, the glass is half empty.
Those who are striving to improve their lot in life are filling their glass. Those who are allowing their life to steadily decline are emptying their glass.

At this time in my life my glass is "Sunyata"
"Emptiness....the wonderous source of all creation"
I am open to being filled with new experiences, or with the unexpected or unfamiliar....

My glass is more than half full, but has a small leak constantly in the process of repair...I keep filling it to keep the level up.
This is a really nice thread, Greystone.

Mine is always half full, that is how I have always seen it though. Some times it gets close to the top.

Right now, it's pretty close to full...but there's always room for more. It's kind of the complement to the cup that's never empty (the mythological reward for Baucis and Philemon for their generosity); there's always room for love, no matter what kind. Coming home reminded me yet again of just how lucky I am to be loved as much as I am, and to have the chance to love as much as I do.

I tend to think of this as evaporation. If you do nothing, the glass gradually empties itself from evaporation.
Welcome home, Heaven.

I have always tried to look at mine as half full...Even with all the experiences and different journeys I am on.....whether good or bad, its always a bit easier to have a smile on my lips.

Sometimes our glass gets tipped over, but where there is life there is hope. The glass is only broken when we are dead. We set it back up and begin the process anew.

Makes some sense. I keep filling. In a comparative manner, not just our attitudes, but our lives are our glass. The same as heat can evaporate the proverbial glass, the heat in our lives can evaporate us to less than half full! That's why it is a good thing to keep a "pitcher" around, whether it be family, our faith, our friends, our struggle constantly forward. As far as breaking that glass? Metal or plastic work to avoid that. But you can't avoid it tipping or spilling some of it's precious contents on occasion.
