Does reverse psychology work?
When I was on the wrestling team in high school we had a big conference title match with a neighboring town.The kid that I had to wrestle was the defending state champion.Before my bout our coach came up to me and said "Your not going to beat this kid but dont let him pin you,it will save us 3 team points if he doesnt."
Now I get to brag. 
Pin me?
Hell,he couldnt even beat me
Our team won the match and later in the season that kid went on to another state championship.
I only got to go and watch.

When I want my daughter to get her things ready to go somewhere, the more I ask her to bring me her shoes, or coat, the more she ignores me, so I say fine, you must not want to go. I head down the stairs and she's right behind me then. So yes, it works. (this is why we never tell our boss what job we prefer at work, because he puts some of us where we don't want to be if he knows)
