I'm just wondering if anyone else here has come across these type of profiles...you know those screaming pay attention to me.Or Even know someone like this.An attention whore by my definition is someone willing to do any and everything for attention(lie,cheat,steal) just for attention whether it is positive or negative.These people are so exhausting and I'm just warning everyone out there if you know anyone like this stay away they will drain the life force out of you.Beware!!!!

I know just what you are talking about Foxiazz and I agree with you 100%!! It is not only this site, but others too! They claim to be something they are not and I agree ....STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM!!!

Yes I seen them, and they not always doing so called bad stuff... just a lot of stuff that says... LOOK AT ME... LOOK AT ME... I AM SO F*ING GREAT when in fact they just big losers.... they do not have to lie or steal just showing their inferiority complex by constantly making sure you see them and try to give them compliments for the shallowness of their activity.

I'm an attention whore sometimes, but I think I do it because I think of a lot of people here as "surrogate parents", as weird as that might sound. My parents don't give a lot of positive attention and never really have, so maybe I seek it here. I don't know. It's not meant to be negative.

Actually Attention Whores do more than post comments.... whatever they do they do to promote themselves rather than give anything of substance in their reply.

A definition of an Attention Whore from the Urban Dictionary
1. Label given to any person who craves attention to such an extent that they will do anything to receive it. The type of attention (negative or positive) does not matter.
2. in addition: females on message boards and chats usually visited by guys(gaming, skating, heavy metal) who make a big deal of being female. they will post pictures and links to pictures of themselves scantily clad so the guys will tell them how hot they are. and they will.
3. A pervasive pattern of excessive emotionality and attention seeking, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
1. is uncomfortable in situations in which he or she is not the center of attention
2. interaction with others is often characterized by inappropriate sexually seductive or provocative behavior
3. displays rapidly shifting and shallow expression of emotions
4. consistently uses physical appearance to draw attention to self
5. has a style of speech that is excessively impressionistic and lacking in detail
6. shows self-dramatization, theatricality, and exaggerated expression of emotion
7. is suggestible, i.e., easily influenced by others or circumstances
