What do you think? I read a little in the reincarnation thread. Some say what we can experience as past lifes are happening now in another dimension. Some even say they can experience other dimensions/realities by meditation, phasing, lucid dreaming stuff...
But dont tell anyone i said it...

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. ... This happens to be the Twilight Zone, and Patrik707, with you, is about to enter it ...

there are nine dimensions. there are possibly alternative universes but almost all will never know. that requires time travel or time jumping for a better term.
somewhere out there in an alternative universe...donal trump is a hobo and lions run egypt.

Exactly, anything is possible, who really knows. There are many possibilities and many theories and I find it all fascinating to read. It's good to keep your mind open.

Parallel universes and multiple dimensions are not the same thing.

Sometime we will be looked as being just as primitive as we look at the people in ancient times that thought the earth was flat.
This is because we are.We only know three dimensions and who really knows how many there are.
Someday time will be irrevelent.
It may be now and we just dont know or understand it.

I wonder if there are any perpendicular universes?
I wonder what the dimensions of that perpendicular universe would be....and would those dimensions be multiple?
Actually, none of us actually exist, except in the dreams of some cosmic unconciousness.....

the latest theories I have heard go something along the lines of this, for each decision made an alternate universe makes the other decision. each change after that makes another alternate, and those alternates make other alternates. until there are unlimited universes running on the same timeline as we are may resemble our universe but where major decisions have changed the way things turned out.

I believe a lot is hidden from most people and the churches forbid hidden knowledge and right away label all other studies as works of the devils giving it the taboo word, the occult which only means "hidden". I believe in Reincarnation and a parallel universe does sound realistic. Death is not the end of our mind and spirit it moves onward where the karma has it to be. Why does history keep repeating itself is simple, the scumbags keep coming back.

Parallel makes me think of linearity. A universe that is parallel to this one, has all the same events and activities occurring just as they have or will occur here sometime. The timeline is what the real variable is. A sliding variable.
O.k. know that I've had my deep thought of the day, I will proceed to play the theme music from the X-files.

interesting thought parallel but one in which it has already happened and one in which it will, I think thats what you meant. The question is which one are we in?

If we were capable of trancending the lowly human body, and existing only in spirit but for a few moments, I believe that we would be capable of visiting, or experiencing these alternate and parallel universes. We use such a tiny part of our brain, that we must remember that we are capable of so very much more! Imagine the possibility and see if you cannot make it happen!

I don't see why parallel universes, alternate dimensions, etc., cannot exist. Humans have a limited understanding of reality...we are a young "race" and are still "children" in the grand scheme of things. It would be arrogant for anyone to say that such realities do not exist. We barely understand our own existence in this "reality" that we inhabit. How can we say other realities do not exist?
You can deconstruct a human by presenting it as a biological "machine". The various systems(ie. nervous, circulatory, skeletal, etc.) are similar to the systems we create in machines. We cannot explain, however, an intangible aspect of human existence. Some call it the soul. Even by saying that it is the result of the chemistry of our brain, we still have only scratched the surface of the sciences of the brain such as neurology. Is a human simply an assembly of organic "parts" like any other machine? I don't believe so. We are more than the sum of our parts. If I had to use a single word to describe humans, I would use gestalt.
So to consider the mystery that is our own existence, the possibility of other realities is not far-fetched at all.
We are beings based in a sensory existence. If we cannot see, smell, hear, taste, or touch something, we have a difficult time in rationalizing its existence. To many, existence is solely defined by outward exploration. Some, however, have explored inward through practices mentioned already like meditation. The human mind is a wonderous thing. There are times when we are able to harness its ability like when we tap into cognitive function. Then there are times when it seems to act on its own like when we are met with inspiration, seemingly spontaneous creativity.
If we understand our own existence, our own reality, then we would be better prepared to search for and understand other realities. Not unlike getting to know your own backyard before taking a step across the street to see what lays beyond.
