I had hoped that I wouldn't be single this spring. Another beautiful evening and sunset wasted.

Be grateful you have eyes to witness such beauty and a heart that can recognize it.

Sci, as usual, is absolutely right. I think it's very important to be able to enjoy these things by yourself as well as with others... let these moments warm your own heart and soul. I have sat through many a sunset alone allowing its beauty to warm my spirit. These types of experiences are the truly spiritual ones... the times I feel closer to God than any other...

It's lonely not having that 'Someone Special' any time of
the year.

But I'm a true believer that the best time of the year to
find 'That Someone' is in the Spring/ Summer months.

Try looking at it this way, Spongey....you could still be "sharing" this beautiful evening and sunset with the ex.

Besides...there's still a lot of Spring left!!

Frankly I prefer to be single... its quieter, cheaper, and my independence never has to be defended...

nothing like getting on the bike and wandering around the countryside... finding a scenic place to watch the sunset, and then the peaceful ride home...

I agree with you Eyes. A few years ago, after already enduring a romantic drought for 16 years; I thought that I had met my long-awaited future wife.
We met through the Internet, and after a few months of rather intense "courting", (or so I thought it was), she moved to my place from the Philippines.
Though we didn't practice procreation, some activity transpired for the initial 2 days/nights after her arrival.
But after telling her that we couldn't...you know..."do it" until after we were married, the gloves came off; and what followed were the most memorable/least enjoyable 35 days of my life.
Foolish "softy" that I am, I couldn't put her + her daughter "out-on-the-street".
But a tiny-little clause in my rental agreement, wouldn't allow for the prolonged stay--in excess of 45 days--of a non-Canadian visitor.
So although upon reflection I'm able to see how this "trial" has taught me much.
(Unfortunately, the "trial" also served to re-fresh + re-new my hibernating hunger for romance. *grin*)
So I guess what I'm saying is that although God allowed a beautiful + desireable woman to enter my life; she was not HIS choice.
To me this served to teach me more patience.
I will "Wait upon the Lord". (No matter how horny I get. )

Sponge...Although I am no longer unattached, I totally agree that spring is a lonely time of year when you have no one to share it with. This spring is proving to be the hardest of my life, knowing that I have found someone wonderful, but cannot even meet him just yet, due to distance and our priorities. Each day that goes by, is harder than the last, and I bet that I will be just about ready for the padded room by the time mid-June arrives!! Just hang in there dude! (Try to visualize it happening!) In the meantime, we'll all help keep you company, I am sure!!!!!!!

I think it's harder in the winter, with Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentine's Day. Plus being stuck inside more often makes me wish I had somebody to start a fire with.
(oh, in the fireplace or physically-no arsonists!)

I don't have a problem being alone on Christmas or anything. It's just these regular days.
