Spngey, Motow & I are shooting the breeze and one of you lovely ladies walks by and a comment is made "What a pair on her". The other 2 chime in "Nice".
This may be hard to believe, but we really were not refering to your shoes!!!
I was sitting at an outdoor cafe, next to a ladies shoe store and we noticed that about 9 out of 10 of the women would stop and stare at the shoes in the window.
Men have our work shoes- our going out at night shoes and our wedding/ funeral shoes that are the basic black after we brush off the months of dust that have accumulated.
So what is this Imelda Marcos attraction that you women have with shoes?
Therapy?
Fashion?
Dress for Women thing?
It cannot be for men, since our vision does not drop that far down.
All may feel free to answer, except the guy looking for the blue boots!!!!

at the blue boots
No Magick, huh? Well, OK then.
I have a love/hate relationship with shoes.Or maybe with my feet. My right foot is size nine and fine, the left foot is...well not fine, also not size nine. It's nine and a half. So I'm actually in search of a woman who likes the same shoes that I do (sandals ladies!! all kinds of sandals) but has a size nine left foot with a nine and a half right foot, to share shoes.
Maybe they can set up an internet non-dating site...woman in search of a woman for purposes of sharing...shoes. Pictures of feet upon request.

Well, I'm an odd woman I guess because I hate to shop for clothes or shoes. ICK!
I own one pair of dress shoes, a couple pair of casual clunky shoes and the rest are water shoes, tennies, flip flops, hiking sandals, and hiking boots. That's as exciting as it gets. I really only get excited about shoes when I find a good pair of hiking sandals that keep me comfortably on the trail for at least a full day. Now THAT'S a find!

HI! My name is Harley and I'm a shoe addict!
When I worked in a shoe store I became addicted to shoes. Couldn't get enough of them. As I wear a size 11, it's fairly hard to find really nice shoes in my size so when I would find a store that carried my size in a nice selection I used to get crazy and buy one of everything.lol
Now I'm back home in WV and I don't wear shoes anymore than I absolutely have to. I got rid of most of my shoes and am happy to report that my shoe fetish has passed!!!!! I now own only 4 pairs of shoes and my riding boots.
Yeah! for me!!

I guess I can certainly say I come by my love of shoes honestly. I can remember vividly my mothers hundreds of pairs of shoes packed into a washing machine size box when they moved, after I had grown up and moved out of the house. By the time I was 18, I had well over 50 pairs myself. I also seem to recall recognizing the fact that i could have gone nearly 2 months without doing any laundry at all. That's when I began to make a conscious effort not to accumulate so much that I really can't use. I grew up with the notion that you had to have the perfect shoes to go with every outfit. Yeah, I've probably got at least 20 or so pairs stashed in my closet so I am still definitely guilty as charged. There are vivid purple ones to go with that formal I wore to a friends wedding last summer, 3-4 pairs of boots, all of which I do wear at some point during the year (mostly winter), high heeled sandals, low heeled sandals, basic flat styles, pumps to wear with my suits, flip flops to wear around in the summer, 3 pairs of shoes for work because I MUST let them air out after being on my feet for 13 hours or so & wearing the same shoe. Yes, the shoe addiction could be compared to a drug addiction. I have to laugh at my 18 year old, because she has it worse than I ever did. Maybe it's hereditary? Gotta love great shoes!

I admit.....I'm addicted to shoes. Not sure why or how it started. I love shopping and buying shoes. My 8 year old niece is just as addicted, every year for Christmas she gets a gift card to her favorite shoe store.

I admit to a fetish with sandals. Don't know what is it about them, but I buy several pairs each year. Can't pass by a shoe store in the summer without checking out what they have. They just make me feel good!!!
(sorry Heaven, but I'm size 8 and 8-1/2 or I'd gladly join in your shoe exchange.)

Boots for winter -- dresh boots and working boots.
sandals & tennis shoes... dressy sandals & not so dressy.
Heels for work environment-- different color to match each outfit.
also need these in flats of each color too.
Then there are slip on clogs that we need in the summer.I know I am
forgetting some other shoes, but another woman will cover that.
Shoes are just womens necessity -- not meant for men to understand.
What about all you men that have caps for every occasion?

It doesn't matter if you're having a "fat" day, your shoes pretty much always fit!

I know what you mean...I keep going on about Phoenix, but it's because I've only been here two years, I'm from Noo Yawk originally, so I'm just absolutely going yeeeeee haaaaawww about now being able to wear sandals year round!!
Oh and while we're on the subject of shoes...are you other women like me...you know, having not so much the shopping gene as the bargain hunting gene? I could have Bill Gates' money and I'd still be the same way...the thrill of the hunt. Getting the perfect pair of shoes (or anything else), but 80% off...wow, what a feeling! Not the best one of course, but not bad, not bad....

Heaven- so right on.....
I love to find something cute at a thrift store or even Walmart at a great price! There are just some prices I won't pay - even when I love something to pieces! Today- just FYI - I'm wearing a cute pair of black sandals with embroidered flowers... got 'em for $5

Oh ya!!! I had a garbage bag full of shoes I gave away before I moved to California. Lol,,some had never been worn.
Shoes, the comfy ones are the best.
A pair of 3inch heels though, make your legs look really nice.

A few years back when I was working in a factory, I was talking to our human resources manager. She told me that the shoes were the first thing she looked at on a prospective hire.
Since the factory is a dirty place I asked if grubby shoes were acceptable when seeking a factory job? She said no because a job seeker is trying to sell themselves and attention to the shoes showed a conscientious person.
As a paintroom foreman I wanted to see old shoes and clothes. It showed me someone who was prepared to work in a messy environment.
