How "old" are you? |

Most days I "feel" physically about mid twenties. There are days after one of my "projects" that I'm sure the date on my birth certificate is wrong and I'm really 98!!
In my mind I have the wisdom of my attained years but "choose" to be more free and less worried than in days gone by. Most times more patient and tolerant of others.
Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.
And you?

Oh Wicked!......such a timely post for me!....
2 weeks ago i could've sworn I was 20.......then i went to see the doc cuz my foot hurt.......well, twety tests later and its now confirmed i have hyper-tension, high blood pressure, diabetes, and gout!!!!!........I've always known these run in the male genes of my family but, like i said, i felt waaaay too young yet for these to develop in me!......
Anyways, after feeling "old" for 2 days, i'm now back to feeling AND acting a little older now.......GEE!....more like 23 now!!!!.....

Dowens...nothing in that list that isn't reversible, trust me (OK, I've never had gout, so maybe I'm wrong about that one!).
I was 46 when I was first diagnosed with diabetes, as well as hypertension and high cholesterol. I went on various meds, and 16 years later, I'm now diet controlled for diabetes, hypertension is under control, cholesterol is perfect, and lifelong arrhythmia has magically disappeared. I've found that it's not so much diet for me as it is exercise, and plenty of it.
So, how old am I? Right now, about 100...I had a bit of trouble with my achilles tendon in my left foot, so I've been hobbling. Weird part is that if I'm out on the dance floor I'm about 23, and nothing ever hurts, then the music stops and I'm hobbling again. Simple answer to that one...keep dancing!

I've had this theory for some time that people program themselves to die at 80 or 100 by thinking of themselves as middle-aged at 40 or 50. I will not be middle-aged until I am 62.

by the time you hit your "full age", you'd be like a "living-cum-dead" person

Sometimes when i listen to 1960's music, which is quite often, i feel like i am 16 again, but the catch is, if i get up without remembering i am 50 years OLD OLD OLD, i might fall down, from getting up to fast, that's how i am re reminded, of my age.....Earl

Difficult question. It depends on whether the surf is up. A good wave makes me feel 16. Good music changes that to somewhere in my twenties and a bad african road reminds me that my body is about to do the five oh thing. Foolish people who insist on having it their way makes me feel a ripe 965.
Incidently, the majority of my friends are musicians somewhere in their 20's. But the people i relate to best are reborn christian, right brain dominant, highly intelligent and in their 40's. Suppose I will just have to face it....

It all depends on the day.....
Some days I feel like I am 22 again.... and then, other days, not so much.
I guess it's all about attitude.....

Awwww Annie I'm sorry!! But if it will make you feel any better even the "youngin's" get those nasty back spasms.
, that's how i am re reminded, of my age.....
Earl I'm going to be 50 in about 4 years. Are you telling me that the pain and aches I feel when I get outta bed aren't going to get better? This is not good!!
Unfortunately that doesn't seem to stop me. I just eat a couple of Ibuprofen and keep on truckin'!! Too much to do

Old enough to know better Too young to resist...
No more disco dancing...no boppin' that's for sure
I tried to do it late last night ended mangled on the floor
The legs they went all wobbly, me head it still feels numb
I've been stuck here since 3 o'clock, in agony on me bum
I know Travolta did it and boy did he look nifty
But I should really give it up as I am way past fifty

Egbert's wife bought a new line of expensive cosmetics guaranteed to make her look years younger. After a lengthy sitting before the mirror applying the "miracle" products, she asked, "Darling, honestly, what age would you say I am?"
Looking over her carefully, Egbert replied, "Well, Maggie, judging from your skin - twenty, your hair - eighteen; and your figure - twenty five."
"Oh, you flatterer!" she gushed.
"Hey, wait a minute," Egbert interrupted, "I haven't added them up yet."

Now I lay me
Down to sleep.
I pray the lord
My shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles
Please no bags
And please lift my butt
Before it sags.
Please no age spots
Please no gray
And as for my belly,
Please take it away
Please keep me healthy
Please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord
for all that you've done!
Foot Note:
One saggy boob said to the other saggy boob:
"If we don't get some support soon, people will think we are nuts!"
