South Park?......Filth or Family values?

OK.....8 years ago, as i sat in St. Marys', I heard a giggle next to me....only to find my 14 year old daughter drawing a "cartman" on the psalmette with great delight to the boys in the pew behind us!.......after a whole lot of kneeling and candle lighting (  ) she was finally able to see the light of day!
But it did make me check out this cartoon and found it full of preachy type messages!......REALLY.....things like.........idol worship isn't good.........every religion, even mine, is subject to question.......gay people CAN be leaders and teachers....etc.,.....etc,.......
I'd love to hear imput, as my 15 yr. old daughter is currently in a great debate with our local editor of our paper over his view........
p.s. his last reply basically was a glorified........."OH YEAH".........i'm not 'puter literate, but when she comes around....(too busy as shes qualified for national debate camp)....i'll ask her to do that whole copy/paste thingy....if you're interested

Congratulations to your daughter.
But as far as South Park goes --- I think they
should take it off TV. (my opinion).
I have watched it and think it is disgusting.

I think. Like most things, it depends on how one chooses to perceive it.
It's stupid.
It's pointless, that's why kids these days like it.
Most shows are just as lame.
Some of it's highly amusing though.

I've heard people disparage animation of all types. "Bugs bunny is just stupid", so many folks aren't able to see the many layers, and hidden meaning that the animators write into the stories...
so they can continue to plug into the simplistic dramas and stories... leave me the deep waters to explore...

south park is a show that makes alot of people uncomfortable because it pokes fun at everything!!!!! and it will often make you look at things that may be a little to close to home,,,,,,it's a show that is not afraid to tell the truth about issues that most people would rather just hide from,,it's the funniest show i have ever seen on tv basically because it is aimed at minds that are mature enough to understand the deeper meaning,,,it is designed to poke fun at the very people who find it "disgusting,vulgur" that's what makes it so funny,,,,,,there's nothing funnier than poking fun at people who think they have the right to decide what is "gross,vulgur etc." if you don't like something than say "i don't like that" don't say "it's gross" who are you to put such a label on things? ,,,,,,sorry just one of my pet peeves,,,,,if you dislike something ,,,fine,,,don't put a nasty label on it,,,,it's YOU that doesn't like it ,,,,that in no way makes it "gross,disgusting vulgur" or any other form of degrading word you can use.. how would you feel if i didn't like you and went around telling everyone you were disgusting,,,gross etc. not very good i imagine  and south park rocks,,,,  sense of humor required,,,,,,

I love southpark, it's not afraid to poke fun at anything. And it isn't biased in its attacks, everybody and everything is fair game. The show isn't meant to be a show everyone is going to like, but I truely enjoy it especially the movie.

South Park, I think, is filth. So I don't watch it. I don't think it should be taken off tv but if when I have kids it's still on it will not be allowed in my home.

OK Mango... I'll step up to the plate.
Now while there are some aspects of Southpark that can get a little crude, I do enjoy watching it from time to time. The writers are not afraid to get controversial and it's always fun to see who killed Kenny!
