Today my son called to tell me its his last day of college. He wondered if I had any spare tool belts he could borrow because he applied for a summer job in construction yesterday and starts tomorrow. He also told me he aced all his finals, looks like he'll be on the National Honor Society again this semester!
My daughter called yesterday to tell me she should make the honor roll again this quarter, looks like she will be keeping her cell phone! (I pay for it if they make honors in school)
We all have something to boast about and be proud of.
What are you happy and proud of today?

Congrats Jankia! I know the feeling, nothing feels better than when the kids are doing well! My daughter also just completed her first year university... 4.0 GPA.. so proud, I feel like I did it myself! She also got a great summer job and is able to pay her own tuition next year. Kids... gotta love 'em, sometimes it's easier than others

Congrats on all the great news, Jank..and you have every right to be proud! You, too, Wanda!
My daughter, who is a sophomore in high school, was selected as Student of the Year for her high school (all other h.s. SOTYs were seniors).
She also placed 3rd for her individual performance at the County level of the National History Fair, and got the highest possible scores in both Florida Writes and all three categories of FCAT (both Florida-specific statewide tests).
She played varsity soccer and varsity tennis, being selected by her tennis coach to receive two awards (it's her first year of competitive tennis). She is in all honors classes at school, with a high GPA (can't remember what it is, exactly).
And to top it all off, she is beautiful, and an adorable girl with a personality that makes everyone just love her.
Yep, I am a proud mama. (My other three kids are also extremely wonderful, but I figured this was long enough already...... )

Congratulations coming your way J...!!!
Some of my news is not so new but:
Jeremiah made Specialist (which he was long overdue) and his Chief is working on having him promoted to Corporal.
Caleb made his high school honor roll and won an award on some of his art work at an Art show. And ( I know this one's kinda funny!) But he didn't get one detention this year! I joke about this cause he is not a bad kid, just always seems to be in the wrong place at wrong time. After last year he looked at me and said "Better straighten my act up .....huh Mom?" Must have been that killer look I had on my face when I picked him up from the principals office that day!
Ashley got a great internship for the summer which could turn into a career.
Dulcie made high honor roll and took 2nd place at the K of C State finals free throw shoot, where she made 23 of 25 shots! She also mowed all of the yard for me last night, without me even asking her to do it! (She is 10).
Mom's not proud at all....(HA!)

Thats great that Jeremiah may get promoted to corporal Jane.

Today my daughter got a job with a school that specializes in dealing with children who cannot be mainstreamed in school because of learning disabilities and behavior problems. The school is geared toward letting these children learn at their own pace. My daughter is very happy and I am very proud.
