My best time of day is after 9:00 P.M. I'm a night owl. For some reason I think clearer, I seem more relaxed and I'm in a better mood all around. Most of my visits to MD is after 9 p.m. When I was in college I wouldn't even think of starting any homework until after 9. It just wasn't worth the frustration of trying to concentrate and knowing I couldn't. I can't stand waking before 7 a.m. and I prefer night jobs. I was told that this is a reflection from my time of birth or what my mom did for work while carrying me. Both of which makes sense. While pregnant with me she was a bartender and would close the bar each night. I was born at 1:12 a.m. so I guess this would make some sense. Anyone else have a best time of day for them and a theory as to why?

Cant figure out what my best time of day is but my worst time of day is 7 in the morning. 7h00 should be removed from all watches for ever.
More serious though when programming I often found that a problem really bugging me after 4 in the afternoon will be solved in minutes the following morning.

Though I, too, am rather a night owl I find that the hour or so just before dawn, the "ambrosial hours", if you will, are the best time for writing and thinking.
Unfortunately, I seem to find housecleaning goes better the later it becomes in the evening so it's not exactly a good combination!

Morning! If its not done by noon, the chances of it getting done are slim and none!
I was born at 12:30 AM...so don't think that follows your theory.

I like early morning. I love getting up and sitting outside watching the fog on the lake as I have my coffee. Now if only I had work that allowed me to stay home all the time.
On the other hand I like sitting in the dark at night too. Guess it's a good thing I'm an insomniac.

Early morning, I'm usually up and around by 4 AM. Most often I'm in my office by 6:30, I get a lot accomplished by 8 AM with no phones and no interrruptions. On the weekends if I sleep till 5 AM that is sleeping in. I attribute this to be raised on a farm and having to get up early for chores.

Early morning for sure, around 4-5am... so peaceful, kinda feels like stealing time, feels like it beongs to me.
Know what you mean Migirl11, when I was working I did the same, up by 3:30-4 am, off to work. You can accomplish so much when the rest of the world is still sleeping or just waking. Bonus was I was usually home by about 3 as well!
We also have a time in the evening, usually around 7pm when all goes calm, doesn't seem to matter the season. I wonder if this has anything to do with living on the ocean?

Best time of day -- anytime I'm doing what I want to do.
Worst time of day -- getting up in the morning without enough sleep.

I'm a night owl. The only reason I get up in the morning on a regular basis is becaue I have to go to work.
But when I got a new puppy a while back and got up early to sit with him on the front porch, listening to the birds chirp, with everything else quiet, I really enjoyed it and wondered why I did not get up early more often.

I agree Sci. From 3am to 5 am are the hours when I used to write most of my poems and story's.
I remember looking at the stars and wondering how many people were also looking at the same time as me.

Like others here, I am the nightowl, also. I like to stay up...afraid I'll miss something...lol
In the summers, I like to get up early....5:30 - 6:00am and either read, write, or a quick bike ride on the back roads, and then at work by 7am. In the winter, though...it's late nights and up around 7:30am...no point rushing out there...it's just cold!!...lol

Usually up by 4, when I'm on form, make that 3...go for a walk, shower and be in the office by 5 or 5:30. Like omkeer, I find that knotty problems tend to untangle once the forebrain relaxes and lets the subconscious take over and I usually wake up knowing the answer that eluded me before. I love the dawn...there are nightbirds here that sing the sweetest songs just before daybreak, and sunrise out on the ocean is an amazing sight....all of a sudden this huge orange fireball pops up over the horizon in all its glory!

I am a nightowl too. When I was pregnant with my kids I would work 11P-7A in the hospital emergency room. Then when I was a stay at home mom for awhile, and after the kids were put in bed that would be my quiet time to read, do crafts, etc. These last 10 years I had been working 7A-3P and I hated it! I've had a life long habit of going to bed no earlier than 2A and I really feel best when I get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Glad to be taking a break from nursing for awhile where I can go to bed 2,3,4AM or whenever and sleep until noon!
