A rather odd thing happened to me on POF tonight. I checked my e-mail and this rather attractive woman, who lives about 40 miles from me, sent me an e-mail, saying, "do me a favor and add me to your "favorites" list." I e-mailed her back, saying that I did. But then I started thinking, "Why would she want me to do THAT?". I then REMOVED her from my favorites list. I have a theory... she wanted her profile to show that SHE was on a lot of guy's "Favorites" lists. Do any of you have another plausible theory?

Yes, she wanted to tell a guy that was bugging her that she was dating a local guy, and tell him that the guy was on her favourites list. You were right to take yourself off her list, because no matter what the reason, you were being used as a fall-guy in one way or another.

If someone I have never talked to "EVER" requests me as a friend I want to know "WHY"? There are a few that request to be friends but don't give me any reason, and I know that I have never had any contact with them before.
They tend to have 150-300 people on their friends list. AHHHHHH what's up with that? Makes me think of that 80's movie with Arnold Swartzanagger called preditor.
The preditor (an ugly alien creature) hunts down humans and keeps a skull collection of conquered game as trophies. I don't want my profile as a trophy.
I will only be interested in people friendships that I have come to know in one way or another.

Chinabull is RIGHT, it was to make some other guy jealous to either get his attention, or to get rid of some other guy. The only other thing i can figure is this, maybe she was down on her self esteem and wanted someone to show they cared enough, some people can feel down i have met, and need to feel someone cares....Earl

To Always Striving, i like to put many people on my friends list that i haven't met because with me, if i love their phylosophy and attitude it makes me simply like them. I limited my friends list because i love all people, and like most all....So it would be pages and pages large....Earl

I understand Earl47, and completely agree with you. If you read my statement it indicates that I am asking people why they are choosing to put me on their lists. Some respond back to me and others do not respond back at all. It's almost like they do not care at all and are only head hunters trying to become popular or something.
You made your point clear but the others do not respond back at all. Wouldn't you agree that's strange just to accumilate profiles without ever speaking to that person who has requested you to be a friend? It's odd in my opinion.

Or she's trying to make some man jealous OR she's wanting to build a "harem" of men on HER favourite's list.
I had someone send me an email tonite wanting to add me to his yahoo. I checked out his profile. He had over 27 women on his "friends" list.
I'm so not into being part of a harem

Always Striving, yes, i see exactly where you are coming from. You are a good person, i hope you know this, and i bet you do. But so true, if they don't respoing back, hmmmm, maybe it's to look popular or something, or just get rankings as some have said.
Also to Painter, i like your phylosophy and way, of why not just email them and ask them why, so true, i always did this all my life, i am just direct with people, y'all are really sweet, i like both of you...Earl

Stormy -- I would like to be your friend,  but you live too far.
That made me look at my friends to see who all are there.
Half are men and half are women.
No wonder I get emails from bi-women. 
I think I need to add some more men to my freinds list.
