The question i have for most is why the heck use this site if your not gonna use it for what its intended for.Example of what im referrin to is i check the (Who's Online) option all the time for folks in my area,well i see them online and i send (NICE,POLITE) emails to them,they never respond or i get the occasional different country stuff wantin my money,lmao.but no people here in my state that are online ever reply,i dont git it...Yall need to be a lil more sociable and not so darned mean.Imma country boy tryin to make it here in the city,im From Texas,just recently moved to this yankee ass town im in now and i must say thus far i hate it,all i meet are stuck,egotistical girls & guys,this place has shown me no reason to stay (YET) im still hopin to be proven wrong but i guess all i can do is wait and see...

the people on the board? lol,you obviously arent reading son,im referrin to ANYONE whom uses this site and by chance has the pleasure of getting an email from someone like me,i mean ok open the email,read it,if you dont like the person least acknowledge you read the email i sent and say im sorry but im not interested,but rather than be polite and do nething of the sort they read it and NEVER give a return email,thats aggravating,means your very unsociable and maybe i should be glad they dont return my emails,cuz if they arent sociable enuff to reply wit an email then i could only imagine how boring or unsociable they are in person....

im tryin,lol....but not to be rude im not lookin for friends persay but a life long partner,maybe the internet is a bad way to do so? but hey i have a busy lifestyle far as work and other things r concerned,therefor i havent the chance to go out and spread my joy to those around me,lol...I did make a connection thru here sum 2 & 1/2yrs ago,it was great,we had it all,then misfortune happened and she moved away and all was lost,long story but nehoo,im healed and still gazin the great big yonder,lol...

You have to be friends first before you can have a relationship. You can't just rush that type of thing unless you want to be stuck with a psycho or something. Very few of those relationships work out when you don't know the other person very well.
You say some might be unsociable, but that is kind of the feeling I got about you just got from your last post....You aren't here to make friends. ...happy hunting for a woman who wants to find a man quick.

no no no,your takin me all wrong,yes im lookin to be freinds with the girl i meet and may wanna spend my time and possibly life with,read between the lines,not so harsh...and me unsociable?? lol,not in the least,i can talk to,hang out with,BS wit the best of em out there,very outspoken and humerous when the occasion calls for it....

Ok, I was born and raised in Northwest Ohio. Just so you don't get me wrong, I love Ohio!! Just not the area your in. Hey, how about Columbus? Or Sandusky? It takes awhile when you have uprroted your self from,,,Texas,,to Akron? Boy what a culture shock you have had. I suggest if you like it up there to even look into Michigan,,lots of hunting and yes, friendly people too.

I lived in the same town as him too. For someone moving to Michigan I would suggest eastern Jackson county. The costs are low and there aren't a lot of jobs here but you can live in this county and work in Washtenaw or Lenewee county where the pay is better.

no im goin back home to Texas in the near future (1yr) tops,im here only to help my mother whom had a open heart surgery,im helpin her git back on her feet and supplyin money and watever else the situation calls for.im not here for personal gain,well if u call wantin to see my mother in good condition my gain then yes thats my overall gain but other than that,did not come here for ME.

Yes, each one of those yellow areas are an email. Some just one short sentence. Some just one word. What do they think I am suppose to write back to them about?? And the others, I would not have anything very good to say. One other one I couldn't even post it was so bad!

Don't get me wrong here ok? If you use good grammer it really helps. Example: typing out a whole word instead of using u for you.
Capitalization too. Using I instead of i. Beleieve me, I know how it is. If you use Yahoo instant messenger, they do alot of short cuts. Most of the IM's do I think.
Just trying to help you. This was brought to my attention by a very good friend on another board I go to. I typed the same way you do and she said, How you "show" yourself is how people are going to preceive you.
It wasn't easy to do, I had to go way back in my memory and think about English class!

What's wrong with that email? A number of things:
A. It's an obvious copy/paste job and nobody likes those. Try writing a short, interesting, personal note.
B. WHAT is there to answer to? You just listed all your email addresses and never offered anything to start a conversation. Reading that, one could only conclude that there would be nothing to talk to you about.
Personally, I never answer messages like yours. Because I have better things to do than entertain people.

Yes, proper use of the language is really important (i seen ya on online). Alot of women get emails from guys in other countries (scammers) that use similar verbage as you are using. Second, don't invite a person to your IM on the first introduction, also a tactic used by scammers. Third, like Mary said, there is no real conversation starter in that email. Strike up a conversation by stating some interests that you have and ask the lady about hers (if you read her profile you would know). For instance, you see in my profile I like board games... you could ask which ones.. and so on.....

I agree with MarysPlace. Back when I was single, I'd never answer what appeared to be a cookie cutter email. I figured the writer was sending it to a number of different women at the same time and he'd never notice that I didn't respond.
If you want a reply, then write a personal message. Say something like...'I notice you live near me' or 'I like your smile' (assuming they have a picture), or 'I see you like tall men'...you get the picture. That way they realize you actually took time to read their profile and you are writing just to them.
My other question would be...how do you know when you have mail on this site? When a wink comes it gives you a symbol to let you know a new one is there, but I've never seen anything by the 'mail' link to let me know when I have new mail...so these people who are 'on line' when you write may not be aware you've written or may have already left and it just doesn't remove them from the 'on line' list. I think it takes about 15 minutes for your name to come off the 'on line' list unless you actually log out.

I'm lucky enough that I can type fast enough to write what I want before the site "times me out," or cuts me off. But sometimes I write to friends and family on regular Yahoo email, and I want to be sure I write them a good letter, and here's how I do it:
I carefully write a sincere letter in MS Word, spell check it, make any necessary changes, then cut and paste it to my e-mail. I don't see why that wouldn't work here, as long as you're not sending the same letter to 47 different women (using the old "shotgun method")
Last of all, these kinds of sites seem to me to be a lot like writing for publication; you send out 20 queries, stories, or poems, and maybe--MAYBE one editor will bite. I've had months pass before someone would even reply to one of my emails. Just don't give up, man. After all, there's "Plenty of fish..." Good luck.
