The ones untaken....the ones who don't work in Africa on a "duty call"...the ones who
are looking for personality and character, as well as a pretty face...the ones who don't just want to boink...

This is such a big province, you MUST be out there!

there are good guys out there, it's just that they are a dying breed due to the corruption of society. if one is patient enough as well as persistent one can find them, just may take a while is all.

We're out there...you're probably just looking in the wrong places, that's all. Why don't you try your local dog park, or someplace where dogs are allowed to swim? There you will almost certainly find good, caring and responsible men out exercising, socialising and taking care of their "best friends."

You can tell a great deal about people in such places by how well-behaved and socialised their dogs are...if their dog runs up to you, their tail happily wagging a mile-a-minute, a bright and eager smile on their face, then sits at your feet and gazes up adoringly at you (sucking up furiously, in other words!) then you know for certain the person who raised/trained that dog has a heart filled to overflowing with an abundance of love (some of which could very easily be yours if you play your cards right) since the dog in question obviously gets plenty of loving attention, as will you if you hook up with such an owner.

On the other hand, if their dog is surly, slinks around with its ears down/back, is shifty or aggressive, if it picks on other dogs a lot and generally goes out of its way to rain on everyone else's parade, that would be a very good person to avoid! They obviously aren't much good at loving and nurturing a dog (by far the most easy-to-please creature in the world!) so they probably wouldn't be much better at loving and caring for someone more complicated and demanding, such as a woman! As well, watch for people who don't pick up after their dog...they lack any and all respect, a trait which carries over into other areas of their lives!

People in dog parks are very easy to approach because they're very much at ease and enjoying themselves tremendously watching their "best friend" at play with other peoples' "best friends." Strike up a conversation with very easy openers like, "I really like your dog...what kind is it," or "That's such a beautiful dog you have, and obviously well-cared for!" Such praise for their dog will delight almost any dog owner out there, and they'll be quite happy to fill you in on every possible aspect of their dog's history, breed/s, how smart they are, how quickly they house-trained/learned basic obedience, et cetera; in other words, they act and sound very much like proud parents!

Be sure to be very truthful at this stage...if you're faking it on any level, their dog will probably sniff out any deception and find a way to alert their master, so don't even think about trying to fake it...dogs' senses are amazing things, almost beyond belief, and they'll know long before their master has even the first clue that you're faking something. If you aren't really partial to or don't like dogs that much, be up front about it right from the start...a lot of dog owners will take that as a challenge, and will try to convince you otherwise; such "convincing" could even take the form of "play dates" with master, dog and you; what's more, these "play dates" can easily turn into real dates, with or without the dog in tow

Other sure signs to look for are a clean and healthy coat, teeth and gums; these all mean that the owner takes the time to perform even the most difficult and time-consuming tasks willingly, and with patience and love, and that is always a good sign since it means they'll be much the same with a human partner. Someone who's willing to work hard at looking after a dog will almost certainly perform minor miracles to keep a lady happy. Also, be sure to observe any punishment they subject the dog to very closely; any man who beats a dog (or any woman, for that matter) will be just as likely to beat a spouse and/or children too, but a good owner will only use verbal and/or domination techniques when disciplining their dog, such as making the dog roll over and expose their vulnerable underbelly then planting a foot on it, or banishing/confining the dog to a small area apart from the other dogs and the owner for a short time. These are much more effective forms of discipline (by far!) than any form of hitting, yelling, et cetera, and shows you that the owner just isn't the hitting type...always a good indicator of personality, and a good heart and soul.

You might want to take a long hard look at your own preferences when it comes to partners while you're out scouting dog parks/lakes/streams et cetera, for a prospective partner; you will surely find some truly wonderful souls, some of whom might not have been very financially successful, for one reason or another, or who aren't particularly handsome or good looking, or any possible combination of the two. If you care more about personality, character and a loving heart and soul, than you do about money, a flashy car or a prestigious career, then you're certain to find some very worthy candidates down at your local dog park. Check it out!

Just my .02's worth, sincerely, "Mac"
