Do some people here often travel between these cities?

The Montreal/Ottawa run is a short one. We do it for lunch if we feel like it. Montreal/Toronto is a different kettle of fish. I do not personally travel to T.O. as I have no reason to.

These two city’s have had a long term rivalry, which is ridiculous considering the amount of Mortrealers that 101 sent running up the 401.

I will say however, that from the times I have visited, I have felt that cultural divide that they speak about. As a result, although I think it a beautiful and vibrant city, I do not seek out opportunities to go there.

I drive there every other weekend because I have to, but I enjoy Ottawa/Outaouais. I prefer Montreal for work opportunities, however. Now that Hi-Tech has suffered tremendously in Ottawa, there were few opportunities for me there.

If you are renting here, I don't envy you. Stupid rent control! Landlords are packed to the gills with tenants, but that's not enough incentive for them to expand. My house was an ok bargain though... last year!
