Went on the long awaited date with my son, and we went to the 7:40 show. Luckily we got there around 7:15, because there were almost no seats left already!! At least they had amusing things to watch while we waited.

It was really awesome and only a couple of times did I think, "Um, how much is left?" because that's the way I am.

I'm glad they stuck with all the original people so far. My son made some funny comments during it, and got nervous at the part where I started crying (trust me, it's sad, someone dies). Great special effects, lots of Star Wars type action (the dark side is bad, mkay?) but as far as I know was pretty close to the book, except for all that stuff left out.

Very enjoyable, I would recommend, especially if you have a kid to take. I would definitely not recommend it for children under say, 12, like the ones that happened to be sitting right next to me.

I couldn't get an adult to take me, so I went by myself, even got me some popcorn and a soda. I gues if they had not left some things out, the movie would have been 10 hours long. It was awsome. Harry Potter forever.

Oh yeah, in the previews, they showed the new King Kong (seriously though, how many times do they need to remake this thing?) which I initially poo pooed, then when I saw Jack Black was in it, vowed to take my son to see that too!! Can't get enough of Jack, and Colin Hanks, Tom's son, is in it too.

Hey there! I loved the new Harry Potter movie too! I have all the books and DVDs. I took my mom to see it,she likes them too. I like the good versus evil and all the magic and fantasy. I agree,I think this one is for older children and adults. There were too many little ones at the movies when I went to see it. A little darker and sad also. So far they are keeping with the books ideas I think.

He's not really dead. I refuse to believe it. And I think it was all setup...that snape did that. I think he's not bad for real.

Snape and the twins are my favorite characters!

As far as the professor, Snape swore to the oath that if Malfoy was to fail at killing the professor that he would follow orders or die horrible death himself...so, i think he is really dead.

SPOILER ALERT

I love this topic! I saw the midnight showing of Harry Potter the Thursday night before it came out everywhere. I went alone and there were lots of people dressed in Gryffindor scarves and hats and even wearing wizards' robes. They skipped the funniest part, at the beginning of the book, with what happened to the Dursleys. The Dursleys should be in every movie, as they are in every book, for comic relief. I was surprised there was no mention of house elves in the movie, since it was a major theme in the book, though one I didn't care for, so that didn't bother me. They changed around a lot of what happened at the World Cup, and I didn't like that. As for the sixth book, I don't believe Snape is bad, and I don't believe Dumbledore is dead. I also believe that Sirius Black will be back. I was rather disappointed about Sirius's head in the fireplace in the Goblet of Fire movie; I wish it had been more realistic. Even the big head from the Wizard of Oz was better.

I saw King Kong the other day, too. It was a great movie, but there were many parts that were ridiculously dragged out, and it wasn't necessary. Jack Black's always funny, though.

Yes, Good review Lucky Frog, and I agree, the Dursleys should be in every pic. I also agree that Sirius will be back. But as to the greaser, I want him around so that Harry can have the ultimate Potters' revenge. I miss Richard Harris as Dumbledore. We also need more Quidich in every movie. So much needed in every movie...not enough time.

I think they should have done like they did with the Lord of the Rings and made a regular theater version and then come out with an extended version for us true harry potter fans lol. There are so many things I know would make the movie too long but I'd love to see on screen.

I love the Harry Potter books. I can lose myself in them for hours. That being said I am not a fan of the movies. A couple of them are not that bad, but they butcher the story lines very badly and I am really picky about that kind of thing. Also I hate that new Dummbledor. He is a lousy actor, get rid of him.
