Rough Crossings by Simon Schama
The story of Britain, The Slaves and The American Revolution.
The Blurb on the back says... Rough Crossings is the astonishing story of the struggle for freedom by thousands of African-American slaves who fled the plantations to fight behind British lines in the American War of Independence.
This may sound a bit heavy going but its written in a enthusiastic manner, very similar to the style he presents History Documentary's on television over here in the UK .
Well Worth a Read

Just finished Bush World by Dowd and am also reading Behind the Bones by Stephen Booth. Next on the list are two mysteries I picked up at the library.

Carl Hiasson is great! I laughed and laughed at Sick Puppy :) I'm currently reading an old Terry Brooks Trilogy. I've read all of his others, but somehow missed this one...Isle Witch.

Loved Wicked. I've read all of Gregory Maguire save his last, Son of a Witch. Just haven't gotten to that one as yet, but the others were also very good.

Lipstick Jungle - Candace Bushnell (She also wrote Sex & the City). I've just started it, so I don't know that much about it yet.

Reading Sex Lies Murder Fame by Lolita Files. Very intriging and an 8.5 on the smut-o-meter.

The Interview with a Vampire series, for the 3rd time I think. I skipped the first book though.
