Just finished the Princess of Burundi by Kjell Eriksson and am now reading La Bella Figura -- A Field Guide to the Italian Mind by Beppe Severgnini. There are lots of great Swedish mystery/crime writers out there and Severgnin is a stitch.

I just finished reading The Life of Pi by Yann Martel....excellent book. A bit inscrutable at the end though. Has anyone else read this book and if so, can you explain it to me? I'm at a loss.

Fault Lines, Incest, Sexuality and the Catholic Family Culture by Tish Langlois In this courageous book, Tish Langlois challenges Catholic liturgy and ideology that benefits men at the expense of women and children. Through a gendered division of labour and a rigidly defined sexuality, Catholic culture can foster sexual abuse within Catholic families. Working from the premise that sexual justice for girls and women is attainable, she exposes the power relationships that promote female obedience to the male head within families and the church. In conversations with survivors of sexual abuse, she traces the fault lines in each of these women's lives: that moment of realization when each of them understood that what happened to them was seriously wrong. Sexual justice, Langlois argues, is not an impossibility but something all women and men within Catholicism should strive to achieve.
as well as Lord of Chaos by Robert Jordan.. Smile A little light summer reading..
I just finished Thinking Class: Sketches from a Cultural Worker: By Joanna Kadi Thinking Class rejects the idea that the working class is the non-thinking class, and affirms the culture that springs up, beautiful and honest, from this society’s true base.

Just finished "Too Late To Say Goodbye" bye Ann Rule. It is a true life story of murder and mystery that surely points out that "truth is stranger than fiction". It is a really excellent read and I must say that although is the first book written by Ann Rule it will certainly not be the last. She does an excellent job of bringing to the point where you almost feel that you know the people she is writing about.
Would highly recommned this book.
