Posts: 1,122 Just saw a movie made in 1948 based on Charles Dickens
GREAT EXPECTATION. Movie is of the same name. Saw the 1990's remake
and it was so so and good but the 1948 black and white version was way better.
If you like literature and a good story/ plot... see this movie.
Little bit of a corney ending in the final minute ( lol.. gone with the wind style)... lol but the movie overall was excellent and fast moving.

Posts: 1,122 Next movie to get is DAVID COPPERFIELD, also by charles dickens. I would so much rather watch the movie than read the book. My eyes get so tired reading books.

Posts: 450 I loved the old Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon. My mom and I would watch it together.. Good memories. I also like Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightly.. I haven't seen an older version
Then there is Jane Eyre with Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine.

Posts: 1,122 I found a David Copperfield movie today (the original story written by Charles Dickens)...
210 minutes? wow a long movie. Hope its good. I'm excited to watch it and will in the next few days.
On the back of the movie box it says this story was Dickens most popular story... and I love a good story.
I'll let you know.
