I'm reading
The Unconsoled
right now, and it's really getting under my skin, in a surreal sort of way. Has anyone read
Remains of the Day
?

Yeah, I bought it off amazon not to long ago. I'm about on page 100 or so. Interesting stuff so far.

I just finished
The Unconsoled
last night. I wouldn't recommend it to everybody, but I loved it in an uncomfortable sort of way. Felt like a short story, even after three hundred pages or so...
I can't wait to pick up
Remains of the Day
!

Oh, there you are!
It's about this incredibly famous pianist who ends up caught up in the troubles of a town he visits. The plot is hard to pin down, because it's really more of a psychological novel...it's very weird, but in a good way. Very surreal...he moves in and out of people's thoughts, in and out of the past, etc., and Ishiguro presents it in a completely non-supernatural way. It was an addictive book; I couldn't stop reading it!
