_1491: New revelations about the Americas before Columbus_ by Charles C. Mann. Anthropoligists are beginning to believe there were a lot more people in South America 500 years ago than in North. Previously it was thought that humans entered the Western Hemisphere in Alaska and spread south. But if they were in S. America before that, we still don't know how they got there.

I found "A Dirty Job" by gore-author Christopher Moore to be very interesting!!
A Dirty Job is a story about Charlie Asher, Beta Male. Charlie's life changes for the twisted when his daughter is born. That same night his wife dies and Charlie becomes a Death Merchant. Six years down the track and he's come to grips with his second "job". But Death is a very temperamental thing and suddenly, things seem to be taking a turn for the worse. Not just for him, but for San Francisco. And it seems Charlie is smack-bang in the middle of the whole mess.

currently readiing The Tin Roof Blowdown by James Lee Burke.
A very interesting story about the aftermath in New Orleans from Katrina. Although it is a fiction novel it is very well written and tells the story as it probably unfolded in some ways.

Interesting? No, absolutely not. The last book I read was the most self-promoting, self-grandization piece of filth I've ever laid eyes on. I'd feel dirty even donating it to the local library.

My Brother's Keeper by Stanislaus Joyce, a very close and personal biography of author James Joyce that gives a really humorous and intimate picture of Joyce's early life and the sources of the weird characters and events in his books. As a fan of novels like Ullysses and Portrait of the Artist, I enjoyed it. Not everybody's cup of tea. I like pineapple on my pizza too. The best part of it is that Stanislaus is also a good writer and witty like his brother, so it has the humor of a Joyce novel.

Anyway...now I'm reading American Theocracy by Kevin Phillips.
It's a little dry, but very interesting.

Gunfighter

Autobiography written by the man himself. Alot of it is a crock of lies, but very interesting nonetheless.

I'm reading the Seventh Son by Orson Scott Card.
If you are into sci-fi, I recommend Ender's Game by Card.
