not bad for a musical, kind of like Tim Burton stylings with a heartbroken, revenge obsessed, cut-throat barber for the lead. With, of course, a "surprise" twist (or ironical) ending.

my sister wants to see it - we'll probably end up buying it though. i really can't stand johnny depp, but i like burton, so chances are i'll enjoy sweeney todd. it's a magnificent story anyhow.

great movie, very "different" (w/the singing and all), very cohesive plot - the ending didn't fall flat on it's face like 95% of the movies today seem to day.
waaaaaaaaay gory, it didn't need all the gore to tell the story - imho

f***... its the best thing on the planet...
i mean... johnny depp... PLUS singing... PLUS alan rickman... PLUS tim burton... PLUS everything brilliant rolled up into one!!!
i am a fan of the version with angela landsbury too... its said to be the best version... but the mere presence of mr. depp makes the new one my favorite.
