My first love is '70's progressive rock:
Yes, Camel, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Dream Theater, etc...
Classic rock:
Bad Company, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers
Classical:
Mozart, Bach being my favorites
Music that defies definition:
Dixie Dregs, Porcupine Tree, Blue October, Bela Fleck, Jean Luc Ponte, Michael Hedges
Jazz, some new age, Native American, celtic and world music

anything with a great melody, strong powerful words and a kickass beat.....favorites are Mozart, Pink Floyd, Phish, Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, The Band, Lynerd Skynerd, Bach, Vivaldi, Dream Theater, Ani Difranco, Dan Fogelburg, Allman Brothers, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Hendrix, Big Brother, Danny Elfman. Peter Bardens and Andy Latimer.

I'll listen to many different types of music except rap, hip-hop, punk, or thrash metal. Love the Eagles, Journey, Boston, Chicago, Foreigner, Survivor, etc. Favorite singer is/was Dan Fogelberg. R.I.P. Dan.

I like all kinds iof music...except maybe some of the intense jazz. It makes my heart all jumpy and weird. Any music that makes me wanna move is the best.....

Mostly 'classic and progressive rock' and 'cool jazz', especially Latin - e.g. Ottmar Liebert and Jesse Cook. Light classical, opera and some New Age too - Kitaro, etc.
Not a big country fan but I can listen to it; really have zero tolerance for rap - easiest way to make me go ballistic.

Hey Heaven... I saw Kitaro years ago here in Seattle... Jon Anderson of Yes was doing vocals for him and I had the honor of meeting them and sharing a shot of tequila with them after the show... that was some night

Wow!! I envy you - I've never heard any of Kitaro's music with vocals, but that sounds as if it could work...I love the Silk Road series.

i listen to a LOT of music
i listen to classical, choral, celtic (vocal or instrumental), swing, jazz, classic rock, 80's hairbands, rock, punk, ska, reggae, dub, indie, folk, industrial goth, techno, metal and various alternative stuff
non-favs are rap, hip-hop, and country
tho i do have a few exceptions for each
