Definitely
Faithfully by Journey
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The part where he sings--
Two strangers learn to fall in love again.
I get the joy of rediscovering you...
Now that is romantic. For a man to feel that way about a woman.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
There's a Neil Diamond song that gets me every time, but I cannot for the life of me remember the title. Part of it goes: "...and the grass won't pay no mind." My stupid ex-bf stole that cd and I haven't replaced it yet.
Right now, though? Ella Fitzgerald, "Blues in the Night"
"...a worrisome thing who'll leave you to sing the blues...in the night!"
Oddly enough it's Metallica.
"Nothing else matters"
So close no matter how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
never opened myself this way
life is ours, we live it our way
all these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters
trust I seek and I find in you
every day for us something new
open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know
so close no matter how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
That Metallica song: by the way...
I got curious, and found the lyrics to the Neil Diamond song:
And the Grass Won't Pay No Mind
(words & music by Neil Diamond)
Listen easy, you can hear God calling
Walking barefoot by the stream
Come on to me, Your hair's softly falling
On my face as in a dream
And the time will be our time
And the grass won't pay no mind
Saying nothing, lying where the sun is
Baking down upon our sides
My lips touch you, with their soft wet kisses
Your hands gentle in reply
And the time will be our time
And the grass won't pay no mind
Child, touch my soul with your cries
And the music will know what we've found
I, hear a hundred good-byes
But today I hear only one sound
The moment we're living is now
Now now now now now now now
Young bird flying, and a soft wind blowing
Cools the sweat inside my palms
Close my eyes, hear the flowers growing
As you lay sleeping in my arms
And the time will be our time
And the grass won't pay no mind
No the grass won't pay no mind
****
(swooning...)
(do people still swoon?)
Eagles - Wasted Time
Cowboy Troy - If You Don't Wanna Love Me
Guns N' Roses - So Fine
Elton John and George Michael - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me
Def Leppard - Two Steps Behind
Jackyl - Secret Of The Bottle
Willie Nelson - Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground
Merle Haggard - Sing A Sad Song
Matchbox 20 - Back 2 Good
Keane - Everybodies Changing
Bob Seger And Martina McBride - Chances Are
Ben Folds - Landed
I have quite a few others but come to think of it. I don't think none of those are love songs though. I think they're more along the lines of sad songs...Hmm..Well o.k., now you know what sad songs I like.
Oh, I'd forgotten that Dylan song, Raks! I love it.
Does "Sundown" by Gordon Lightfoot count as a love song? Man, I need to go burn a cd...
I love sundown too
but don't think it qualifies
I think a rap group named Elwood did a remake that isn't half bad
How bout "if you could read my mind"
not sure that would qualify either
