I just learned tonight that they have made one of my favorite fantasy novels into an animated feature. Has anyone seen it? I'm apprehensive... I've been hoping they would make a movie out of this series, especially after LOR came out and was wonderful.
Tasslehoff Burrfoot brought to life through animation. I don't want to be disappointed... anyone out there know about this?

read the book - and - for a time i had the books on tape from the library .... it seems strange to me that there might be people out there who do not know about Tass and the kender race who so love to borrow things .

The series has been one of my my faves. I had heard it was coming a while back. Then I ran across it in the used section in Blockbuster some months ago but I had already read the reviews on Amazon that flatly panned that animated movie for the 70's cheap quality dropped frame animation used, and a waste of good voices like Lucy Lawless. I planned to check to see if youtube had a sample clip to see for myself.
Tasslehoff, sure, but the part I like is the Raistlin character, especially with the interaction with the gully dwarf Bupu and the dwarf king, as well as Fizzbin.

saw it . they left out a lot . could have been better . could have been worse . i rented it at MOVIE GALLERY .

if you do not like cartoon style , you would likely not get into anime stuff , which would be to bad - because there are some good ones out there . oh well . that is life .

OK... so I just rented this last week and I have to say... I was SO disappointed that I could barely even watch this tragedy. (I did end up turning it off)
This series is by no means a childs tale, but it was like I was watching an old Rankin-Bass production  Even the voice overs were horrific
I think I will retreat into my happy fantasy world and perhaps write Peter Jackson a letter asking him to treat this series as he did LOTR... or even better, how about the Dragonriders of Pern series... wouldn't that be cool?
