I can't believe he's gone. He was a Real GOOD LOOKIN' MAN. I sure am gonna miss his acting. No doubt Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Road House were his best movies for me, oh yeah, The Outsiders also. I always wanted to be his dance partner (ohhhhhhhh, baby, hubba hubba).

i never met patrick swayze,,he was not a member of my family,,he was some guy who i saw in some movies,,his death will have absolutely no effect on my life whatsoever...of course i'm a sane ,rational human being,,,not a star-f#cker who feels so inadequate as a human being that i need to form attachments to people i see on television or in a magazine....

just sayin,,,get a grip,,,

Too Wong Foo.. that was an awesome crazy film.. it was reported that they originally wanted Kevin Kline for the part that Patrick played... but Patrick went in for the reading in drag and NO ONE recognised him !..that got him the role.. !..

but without a doubt, Dirty Dancing will always be my favorite film of all time. any movie..
It will be a classic!.. I am so glad I bought it!

I saw Point Break again just a couple of months ago.. great film.. great acting..

All those, and Red Dawn.
So many young stars in it, and a very scary subject.

edited to add, there is a special on NBC tonight about him called "Last Dance"

thank you sissy for saying that.. i never met patrick either but know people that did.. and knew him in real life.. but none the less he touched many lives.. one of his lesser known films was called 3 wishes.. a beautiful story.. and i am a sane rational person too but as they say life imitates art and art imitates life.. so go grip yourself someplace else and dont mess with my thread.. No matter how you look at it, he was very talented. (psst-C Thomas Howell played Ponyboy...Patrick was his big brother Darrel)

I enjoyed a lot of Patrick Swayze's work. As such, the characters he protrayed, and his abilities in portraying them, became part of my life. They are as much a part of my memories as seeing the mountains or Buffalo Bill's grave. That his body of work has now reached its end is a cause for sadness on my part (and the parts of millions of his fans), because we feel a loss. The loss is no less real because he wasn't with us daily, or because he didn't know our names and faces and voices as well as we knew his.

I can understand that many people might not feel the loss around his death. But in that case, it is just rude to intrude on those of us who do.

Incidentally, my favorite was "Road House." "Be nice. Until it's time NOT to be nice...."

My favorite movies are, "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" and I watch them both whenever they are on tv (I have satellite tv so it's on some channel, somewhere). I might go ahead and buy the dvd if I come across them someday.

Yes, he'll be missed by his family, friends and fans, for sure. Peace at last, Patrick, you put up a good fight!

....and Sternfan, stuff it!

Was "Keeping Mum" the one where he was a thief and he had his two little kids with him?

Nope, never mind. I just looked at his filmography on IMDb, and it was "Father Hood" I was thinking of.
