Question about UK culture

Is it the norm for male to pay for the dinner with a female friend (not a girlfriend/wife) or do they go Dutch?

What does an Englishman think if the female friend requests to go Dutch?

What does an Englishwoman think if the male friend requests to go Dutch?

What's the norm?

Thanks.

Picturing couples in little wooden shoes

Don't mind me, the wine is chilling and I'll be okay in just a bit.

Women have to pay for everything here
They work hard and the men take all the money to the pub

Rubbish MissChoos.

Snow, if he is a gentleman he will pay! If you insist he will be a gentleman and let you pay.

If he asks for Dutch

Lady leads.

Surely in this age of PCness it is sexist to expect the man to pay

I agree with Andrew. I need a women to pay for me lol

I would pay but I wouled not wont to be taking for a ride. That not nice feeling that is not. No such thing as a fee meal In lees she couled not afford to pay then of course I wouled.

But I also like meals in just as much and sometimes better.

Yeah if she says "I'll take you out for dinner," then she pays...

Having said that, there's about as much chance of that happening as a fly asking a spider round for dinner... So... the second time round, invite her round for dinner at your place... If she says no, say OK let's eat at the same place again, your turn...

Or if you'd rather go Dutch, look out for a flying Dutchwoman, you might even get a roll-up too...

Are you up for a picnic in the park, Miss Mys? If you say you're paying, everyone on this page is guaranteed to turn up lol...

Only trouble is, the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav is just passing through the Northern UK ...

This is amazing, if I paid for dinner with every female friend I've been out to dinner with, I'd be seriously in debt!!!!
