I used the pressure cooker for the first time last night -- flank steak marinated in orange juice, ginger and garlic. Cooked up in no time and it was sooooo tender it was practically falling apart.
AND, most importantly, I didn't blow up the apartment!

My daughters and I got a complete girls night in from one of my best friends. It consisted of 3 pairs of wooley stockings to keep our feet warm, 3 huge china mugs, 3 types of hot chocolate (white, milk and plain), a huge bar of chocolate, a bag of marshmallows and "The Holiday" on dvd.
However, it doesn't beat the incredible portable hairdrier my ex-Monster-in-law bought me one year... the kind that is like a big bag on your head with a drier hanging off like some kind of wierd handbag..... (it must have been manufactured in the 60's and bought at a boot sale) .... or the miniature brass hammer disguised as a screwdriver holder my Mother gave my husband (now ex) ..... Those were the days!

My daughters and I got a complete girls night in from one of my best friends. My sister gave me a night at home -- fuzzy socks, a gorgeous throw, two movies and a kilo of unpopped popcorn, which I don't think I can make in the pressure cooker. I think my next recipe will be wild rice and mushroom soup -- I'll email you guys some!
BTW, I read somewhere today that you guys are eating gray squirrels to save the little red squirrels. I'm almost positive you can cook Brunswick Stew in the pressure cooker...not that I'll be doing it anytime soon. I'm from north of the Mason Dixon line!

The following could be reason why we dont have so many of the RED squirrels here much nowadays.....In the reign of Tony Blair they all became SUICIDAL yeah I know I am sick
Suicidal Squirrel # 1
Suicide Squirrel # 2
Suicide Squirrel # 3
Suicide Squirrel # 4
There are another 96 of these but I am sure ya get the drift

Did I miss something, who eats squirrels? No one I ever heard of... Where were you during "Squirrelgate" CPU? I saw many a link to recipes posted in the blogs.
I believe Skydog might have a few recipes for roadkill too!
you guys are eating gray squirrels to save the little red squirrels We don't have any red squirrels here, I'm told the American grey invaded and the reds disappeared. Perhaps we ought to eat 'em, the little bastards are everywhere. So cute though, I love watching them playing with their nuts.
