Many beautiful places in Scotland...great countryside, beaches, historical sites.. Been to many such as Doune Castle, Doune Hill, Aberfoyle - Coventers Inn (one of my favourite places, steeped in history and sooo lovely)... Golden Sands beach and St Andrews really nice...heard lots of nicer beaches down east coast which I will get to one day...

I have been to scotland and found the place beautiful. Loch Lommand, Loch Ness, Glasgow, Edinburgh, ayreshire, danoon, it waas all beautiful, but mostly the people were beautiful. I actually came back hame with a wee accent, sort of an americanized scotish accent. The girls liked it though...

The steam train from Glasgow to Inverness
The ferry visiting the inner Hebrides from Mallaig ( a day trip) calls at Eigg, Canna, Rum and Muck if your brave and can stand the midgies get off on the isle of Rum and stay in the castle for a couple of nights and walk around the island.

The architecture in Glasgow is very nice. I'm happy that the city seems to have recovered somewhat from its doldrums and is such a vibrant place for art and museums.

Glasgow is the only UK representative in the Lonely Planet's Top Ten Cities list
Scotland's largest city, which is often compared unfavourably to Edinburgh as a tourist destination, is the only UK representative in the Lonely Planet's "Top Ten Cities" list.
The Best in Travel 2009 guide aims to identify the world's "hottest travel trends" and describes Glasgow as a "capital of cool". http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/uk/scotland/glasgow/3197480/Glasgow-named-one-of-best-cities-in-the-world.html
You come for the cocktails, cuisine and designer chic (plus the legendary native wit) ... Scotland's biggest city has shaken off its shroud of industrial soot and shimmied into a sparkling new designer gown." Glasgow is the only British city included in the top 10, an accolade embraced by Steven Purcell, leader of the city council. He yesterday helped to unveil plans by the Dubai-based Jumeirah hotel group to build a so-called "six-star" luxury hotel in the city - a 26-storey tower which will boast 160 guest rooms and suites and 85 serviced apartments. http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2008/oct/15/glasgow-scotland

The architecture in Glasgow is very nice. I'm happy that the city seems to have recovered somewhat from its doldrums and is such a vibrant place for art and museums. I'm not a fan of Scottish architecture. I did like some of the Mackintosh designs especially The Mackintosh School Of Art. I wasn't fussed on his furniture designs though.
I visited Kelvin Grove Museum after they did the refurb, that was pretty impressive, the art in there is something else.
I loved The Glasgow Science Museum, I could play for weeks in there.
The Transport Museum had my son's pushchair in it, he's only 15.
I visited most of the museums in Glasgow while I was there, loved them.
Loch Lomond is stunning.

Glasgow is still not beautiful, not in my eyes.
Loch Lomond is.
