Recently got some books on coffee from around the world. Amazed at some recipes ! Bits of chocolate to melt it it, using cocoa and cinnamon... even whole eggs mixed in the grinds ! Doing some experimenting with the recipes now.
Anyone ever have some very usual coffee drink ?
BTW, here is a drink called HAWAIIAN COFFEE.
You use shredded coconut and mix with milk, refridgerate overnight, use a strainer and add the liquid to your coffee. Some of the coffees add the juice of one orange to the coffee too ! and...... congac and brandy are added too.
Copenhegan coffee 3 1/2 cups hot coffee 1/2 cup rum 1/3 cup sugar 1 stick cinnamon 6- 8 whole cloves.. heat over meduim heat, for up to one hour.
Egg coffee 2 eggs yolks 1 tbsp honey 2 tbsp brandy 2 tbsp cream 1 1/2 cups hot coffee....... combine the egg yolks, honey, brandy and beat until frothy, spoon the froth into 2 cups, add the cream and hot coffee.
Cafe au vin 4 tsp sugar 1 tsp ginger powder 1/2 cup sweet red wine, warmed 4 cups cafe noir 4 tsp orange juice 1/2 tsp coriander powder.. add sugar and wine to hot coffee, pour into 4 cups, add 1 tsp orange juice to each cup, dust the top of each cup with coriander powder.

I need to know how to make an ORIGINAL Irish Coffee....
I love the stuff. I dated a Celt once (I know...not Irish) but he made me the best Coffee ever. I think he used Irish rum or whiskey....I can't remember....anyone?

I saw a recipe in there for that... was called irish coffe or something.... took quite a bit of irish whiskey. Recall also reading a warning that its way more powerful than it tastes. Will see if I can find it for you and post later.

Just give me heavy cream and sweetner, works well with my low carb stuff, too, and is always a treat.

I'm having some new coffee. Its from Rowanda ( packaged by costco) The package says jasmine and chocolate subtle aroma. I dont like it.
Usually have good luck with new coffees but this one I dont care for. Can maybe use it for a base for something else that will mask the odd taste. Do not think I'll develop a taste for this stuff. Yuck

Greek iced coffee is really nice.
It comes chilled in a tall glass, it's black and sweet, served with a straw and frothy head.
