....well its not that hard to let the eggs stand in cold water for a minute ........the shell comes off just as easy and you dont have to go to the trouble of blowing..........

One of the other many kitchen gadgets that I just had to have was an electric egg cooker. Good buy! It makes the best hard boiled (and poached) eggs. Ever since I started cooking my eggs in this, I never have trouble peeling them. It must be because the steaming process puts a barrier between the egg and the shell. I don't even have to put them in cool water first. Perfectly peeled eggs every time!

The best way to make sure the shell comes off is to make sure they are not "real fresh". What I mean by that is to look at the date on the carton and if the date is around 2 weeks away then they are ok to boil. If they are really fresh, then take them home and let them sit out on the counter over night.
Ah yes, I used to work in an egg packing place.

and I'm living proof you can eat eggs 4 weeks AFTER the exp. date and still live.. I am surprised that they EVER introduced an expiry date on eggs.
A production date would have been so more appropriate.

a couple of other simple ways to keep the shell from sticking to a hard boiled egg....
add 1 tablespoon of iodized salt to the water before the eggs start to boil
pour the boiled water off of the eggs and place one ice tray of ice cubes over the cooked eggs and let the ice melt.....
